OBAMA WINS NEW MEXICO. See below.

Assume McCain wins all close states left: Florida, Montana, Iowa, Virginia, North Carolina, Nevada, and Iowa: That brings McCain to 266. Obama cannot lose California, Oregon, Washington State, and Hawaii.

So folks, with Ohio being the only Republican state that Obama needed, he's got it. If Obama holds every state Kerry won and only wins those, Obama wins. The fact is that Obama will also win Iowa, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, so it will not be close. But if you want to go to sleep now, you can, fully assured with our guarantee Obama is the next President of the United States.

WICKER HOLDS REPUBLICAN SENATE SEAT IN MISSISSIPPI. This means for all intents and purposes, the Democrats cannot reach a filibuster proof 60 seats in the Senate.

OBAMA TAKES NEW MEXICO. It is now a virtually impossible for McCain to win the presidency.  In any election before 2000, the networks would call it for Obama.  Something like McCain winning California would have to occur for McCain to win. And that is as likely as a former chief Judge in Broward calling a Dade lawyer out of turn.

  1. call me a doubting thomas, but ever since 2000, I just don't trust this "call the state" stuff based on such a small percentage of the electorate in. I'll be up for quite a few more hours, just to make sure.

This is such an exciting and looks like historic night.

  2. New Mexico went for Obama. Iowa too.

Only question is how many Senate seats will the Dems pick up. If they take Chambliss' seat, could end up with 60.

    Adios Republicans.
