First bad week last week, but a nice rebound calling the Steelers big on Thursday night.
The Broncos go the San Diego where the Chargers are laying 7.5. Give the points, take the cannoli.
Bills go to Jersey to play the Jets. Take the over 37. The Jets look like the pick to lay the 3.5 but something keeps telling me to stay away from this line. So take the over but watch the line.
Giants at Carolina on many books is off the board. If you can get it, I like the Giants with their backs against the wall getting 4, and under 40.
2 quick flyers- Take Tennessee -4 at Houston, and the 49ers -5 at home against the Pack.
I still miss Migna.
ReplyDeleteA U.S. Justice Department report released on November 30 showed that a record 7 million people -- or one in every 32 American adults -- were behind bars, on probation or on parole at the end of last year. Of the total, 2.2 million were in prison or jail.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the International Center for Prison Studies at King's College in London, more people are behind bars in the United States than in any other country. China ranks second with 1.5 million prisoners, followed by Russia with 870,000.
The U.S. incarceration rate of 737 per 100,000 people in the highest, followed by 611 in Russia and 547 for St. Kitts and Nevis. In contrast, the incarceration rates in many Western industrial nations range around 100 per 100,000 people.
Groups advocating reform of U.S. sentencing laws seized on the latest U.S. prison population figures showing admissions of inmates have been rising even faster than the numbers of prisoners who have been released.
"The United States has 5 percent of the world's population and 25 percent of the world's incarcerated population. We rank first in the world in locking up our fellow citizens," said Ethan Nadelmann of the Drug Policy Alliance, which supports alternatives in the war on drugs.
"We now imprison more people for drug law violations than all of western Europe, with a much larger population, incarcerates for all offenses."
but we're winning the war on drugs right?
ReplyDeleteI'd hate to follow the EU's sentencing guidelines. LOCK 'EM UP
ReplyDeleteI've been beating that drum ever since I started the blog, but not many people seem to care. Fight the fight.
ReplyDeleteHey - Vote Republican - it is good for business - All those bleeding heart liberals need ousting, and NOW! Any judge who gets hung up on technicalities and fails to assure a conviction should be tarred and branded! How dare these bleeding heart judges allow these scoundrels, who we call “defense lawyers” to hide behind their cloak of legality or advocacy. These scoundrels confuse us all and get the guilty off, and the judges let them do it How dare these lawyers and judges claim the Sweetwater police did not have the right to beat a confession out of a witness; how dare they say the Sweetwater police cannot plant the evidence (drugs) on whomever they suspect of being a criminal, it saves time in the long run, these would be criminals y are going to commit the crime anyway and will be guilty, so lets choreograph it and do it sooner than later!. Put hem all in jail, torture them, and the hell with it. Gee Whiz, did I have a flash back to the dark ages, no I was reading about the Bush administration!. Perhaps food for though for our judiciary, for whom I have a word of wisdom, ignore fairness and decorum, be abusive and arbitrary, deny continuances when we are trying to get paid or finish our preparation, and the next election could mean the unemployment line. - Oh Well
ReplyDeleteI picked every game right execpt I pushed on the under in the Giants game and the 49'ers are losing. Gave you the over in the Jets, told you to stay away from the line, gave you the Giants, Gave you Tennessee (admittedly a fluke win in OT but I'll take it) I really should charge for my picks, I'm that hot.
ReplyDeleteOH yeah- and the Chargers are going to cover big.
ReplyDeleteRumpole, although you completely ignored the fins game, how bout some props for the shut out?
ReplyDeleteI don't pick every game, and picked the fins 4 or 5 straight weeks including last week when they lost. Mega props for bouncing back and shutting out that weasel Brady and his cry-baby coach who is way overrated.
ReplyDelete3:17, satire should be subtle, and simple, to be effective...when you are so IN-YOUR-FACE about your issues it just smacks of vindictiveness...not creative at all friend...
ReplyDeleteOnly people who are from or root for The Ohio State University call players from Michigan "the weasels". Nice hint Rumpy
ReplyDeleteGo Gators!
