SAD NEWS ON JUDGE LINDA DAKIS
Several readers have emailed us to alert us to the sad news that Judge Linda Dakis suffered a serious stroke over the weekend and that the prospect for her recovery is not good. During these days of religious holidays and introspection, this is a good time for supplication on behalf of Judge Dakis to whomever you believe is running things.
This is not the time for fun and irreverence. Suffice to say we have been stuck west of the Mississippi on dreary legal matters that successfully concluded, and are winging our way home.
See You in Court.
People "pop out" of strokes all the time. I will keep my fingers crossed for Linda.
ReplyDeleteSadly, I was told (by another judge)that it was a serious cerebral hemhorrhage.
ReplyDeleteI do fervently wish the best for Judge Dakis.
Sorry, I don't remember my pass word right now and don't want to be bothered looking it up.
ReplyDeleteTHE NEWS IS NOT GOOD ABOUT LINDA. She CLEARLY IS IN GOD'S HANDS.
Judge Larry Schwartz
our prayers and thoughts are with her family
ReplyDeleteWho is Ms. Dakis? A civil Judge? Family?
ReplyDeleteCome on Linda... you can do it.
ReplyDeleteWake up and surprise everyone!
Until then... prayers are in order.
For many years, Judge Dakis served as Administrative Judge for the Domestic Violence Division. Her latest position is Administrative Judge for the county court's general jurisdiction division.
ReplyDeleteArticles she's authored include:
Coordinated Professional Response: An Essential Need, Family Law Commentator XIX (3), 2/94
Dade County’s Domestic Violence Plan: An Integrated Approach. Trial (February 1995): 44
Attacking the Crime of Domestic Violence, 19(4) Fam. Advoc. 46 (1997)
Judge Dakis was the best domestic violence judge ever. She could read people and cut through the abundant lies and b.s. that plague the domestic violence cases and get to he truth of the case. Judge Dakis strictly followed the law, tossing or upholding injuctions without fear of political fallout. She called them as she saw them and was usually right on target. I pray to God that she recovers quickly.
ReplyDeleteJudge Dakis is a super lady and an asset to the bench. please take a moment to think of her and send a positive thought to her family. thank you
ReplyDeleteYeah, too bad for Dakis. She will not be able to close cases for her friends and re-open them for her other friends when they need a hand/favor. Is it a good time to start the Dakis probe? I am sure many clerks can now talk freely of the wonderful use of powers she demonstrates as an Administrator.
ReplyDeleteWHOEVER WROTE THE NEGATIVE COMMENT ABOUT JUDGE DAKIS IS A PATHETIC LOSER. ANYONE WHO CAN KICK SOMEONE WHEN THEY'RE DOWN IS NOT WORTHY OF OPINION. CLEARLY YOU ARE A COWARD HIDING BEHIND YOUR COMMENTS, LIKE THE KKK HIDING BEHIND THEIR HOODS. I HOPE YOU ARE NEVER DOWN AND VULNERABLE BECAUSE LIFE HAS A WAY OF PAYING BACK THOSE WHO THROW ROCKS AND HIDE!!!!

Sadly, I Judge Linda Dakis was removed from life support yesterday. I will post again for information concerning services. Rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteJudge Linda Dakis is in stable condition and has not passed away. Please disregard any unofficial postings of her condition due to the insensitivity of those who are not concerned of the feelings of Judge Dakis family and friends. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhat Kind of SICK individual would post that Linda Dakis had past away?! What is wrong with you? I want you to be aware that her family and friends ARE reading this. These comments are being read by people who are out of state and something like posting her FAKE death is absolutely disgusting. Grow up please.
