FIRST CHRISTMAS POST 2024

As we head into the Christmas/ Hannukah/ Kwanza slowdown, not to be confused with the MLK weekend slow down (Jan), Presidents Day weekend slowdown (February),                St. Patrick's day slowdown (March), Cino De May day slowdown (May) Memorial Day slowdown (June)...you get the idea... we have a few important questions for you.

First, and this requires serious discussion....is Die Hard a Christmas movie? This is a serious issue endlessly debated, which has never stopped the Blog from wading into waters where others fear to swim.

And whether or not DH is a Christmas movie, what are the best Christmas movies of all time. And we will remove It's a Wonderful Life from the discussion because there can be no debate it is the best Christmas movie of all time and the contest is for second place and below.

Second- we have a long-time reader who has written a novel. They are seeking feedback and want us to post some chapters on the blog for honest feedback including readers spotting any typos or plot inconsistencies.

Thoughts about this? It will relieve us from posting for the last two weeks of the year. We have read a few chapters and it is blog worthy. So yes or no? It's a non-legal thriller FYI.  We will post the chapters as PDFs but may be able to email them to readers who ask nicely. At the moment the author has requested anonymity, although we are encouraging him/her to take credit for the writing.

Thursday Night Football.

The Surprising Broncos play the Los Angeles Chargers. The Broncos are getting 2.5 on the road and the O/U is 41.5. We like the over a little, as both teams have decent defenses and the Chargers like to run the ball but the game could easily turn into a shootout. We will post our pick this afternoon pending resolution of a pesky federal motion.

Yipee Kayee ....

1) Die Hard is not a Christmas movie. But I will only admit that here and not in front of my wife.
2) Christmas Vacation is the best Christmas movie ever. Honorable mentions to A Christmas Story, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and Elf.
3) Post the chapters. If he wants it, do it. Doesn't mean that we'll read them (maybe I will?), but that's the gamble with publishing.

The first issue is definitional. Is a christmas movie about christmas or is it the one you will watch during the christmas lull for nostalgia purposes regardless of themes? For me, my dark horse is the silence of the lambs because I once got into an argument with one of your favorite judges about whether the book was better than the movie. He took the book and was extremely wrong. So, if it happens to be on during the holiday period and I have time on my hands, I will almost always watch it. I hope he reads this and remembers!

To the anon novelist: I have some experience in the publishing world. You dont want your work posted publicly, for a million reasons, if you intend to seek a literary agent to represent you at one point. Better that you compile a list of email addresses via this blog. Your email and the readers emails can be anon gmails if you like. Then email them your manuscript for their thoughts, etc. Do not publish it online, even in excerpt.

Gremlins is one of the best Christmas movies.

It's a wonderful life is still, by far, the best Christmas movie.

Die hard deals with a Christmas party during a trans-continental trip to reunite with a somewhat dis-functional family. It’s as Christmas as it gets.

1. A Christmas Story- originally a nothing movie yet continues to gain momentum with time (as did It's a Wonderful Life) 2. Elf 3. Four Christmases (flawed flick yet story very relatable) 4. Silent Night/Deadly Night & Black Christmas (cuz Christmas and slasher goes hand in hand) 5. Home Alone

Publish it on the blog unless it is more graphic Gosney garbage.

I know an ASA that looks like a gremlin.

2024 was a gift. County Circuit Judge Andrea Wolfson disqualified Miami-Dade State Attorneys Michael Von Zamft and Stephen Mitchell.

While not a Xmas movie, The Godfather has an epic Xmas scene: Michael Corleone and Kate shopping outside of Macy's.

Rumpole - If you were defense counsel for LUIGI MANGIONE, what would your defense be?

Check out today’s Herald story about the Pino boating case. These f@@@ idiots at the SAO and FWL not only blundered this case probably denying the victims a real shot at justice, but the story also reveals that Laura Adams had resigned and later withdrew her resignation. The story also published text messages between Kathy and Adams where Kathy scolds Adams and Adams responds in a rather pathetic manner. Apparently Kathy can have a mean streak, except toward Bronwyn. Regardless, corruption isn’t the only affliction in that office. Incompetence is not far behind.

Speaking of Gremlins and novels, things appear not peachy in the world of worst-selling author Steve O-Grossney, the big-shot insurance lawyer.

His henchman, the Viking, has implied that his salary was reduced by 80% because of the defense bar mob and book cancelers (talk about twisting facts, lol) ruining his career. For the record, his book is unfortunately still for sale, so yet another lie. I guess the Viking didn't bother reading that his friend got a plush settlement from SAO-Miami for his troubles (and for being a troubled man), so he wouldn't sue them for gender discrimination (yeah, you read that right).

I wonder if his troll farm, on purpose, has selective reading. I recall an appellate Judge wrote some not-very-nice things about Grossney via text message to KFR and boom; he got fired two weeks later. More importantly, why does Grossney need an incompetent drunk weirdo lawyer from another country defending him? Isn't he a legal scholar who has argued in front of the Florida Supreme Court? Why let your trolls ruin your career and blame others? They are all a cult of unstable characters with dyslexia and poor taste in books.
