Good riddance

Thanks for the heads up. Can anyone make a spread sheet that explains who is taking over for who?

I go to the judge web site and one of these division numbers does not exist.

Rump, so all of the “baby” judges will go to REG? How is that fair?

Anonymous said...

Brinkley is so wonderful, sorry to see her go

Anonymous said...

Gamez would be almost as bad as El Aponte....

Please Dear God - bring Judge Michael Hanzman back on the bench - and please assign him to criminal. We all loved and respected him here. He did what was fair and wrote brilliant orders.

THE CAPTAIN RETORTS:

Two of the three judges coming into the building are Carlos Lopez and David Young. Judge Lopez has been an attorney for 43 years and he has been on the bench for five years. Judge David Young was first elected to the bench in 2000 and he served for seven years. He was then a "TV Judge" with his own show for two years. He returned to the bench in 2016 and has been serving for the past seven years. So, he has at least 14 years of experience as a Circuit Court Judge including several years serving at the GJB.

The only "baby" Judge (per your ill-informed comment) would be Judge Laura Gonzalez-Marques who was first appointed by DeSantis in 2021 to the County Court and then in 2023 to the Circuit Court.

You can criticize a judge for never trying a case. Which isn’t true btw - the judge who you tried to post about was a prosecutor and tried plenty of cases. I’m not sure about the mental health comment and the final one was simply out of line and you know what I mean. Try again.

Captain, the 10:00 am candidate to be a judge Jason Quinones does not exist and never existed. His real name is Jason Reding. He musta changed it just to apply. Please investigate further.

Anonymous said...

The Florida Bar website has Jason A Reding Quinones in the US Justice Department. His email has Reding, not Quinones. 14 year lawyer

Rump

Please investigate. We don’t need another Peter “ Camacho” Adrien situation in the building.

Same Jason A. Reding that was mentioned here by FIU? https://law.fiu.edu/2015/01/13/alumnus-jason-reding-08-promoted-selected-judge-advocate/

Or this Jason A. Reding for DoJ in a 2020 federal case

Judge Perkins cannot go soon enough. He is one of the worst judges ever to serve in the building, It is only a shame that he is not going at the beginning of January.

Cruz is really Shearon. Added the Cruz when she was interviewing for appointment. She was awful in DV.

Anonymous said...

Bandin is a dingbat. Nice enough though.

Anonymous said...

Same guy. On Search engines like Intelius, still listed as Reding. No relatives listed with name Quinones. LinkedIn now has him with Quinones.

Anonymous said...

Where is Brinkley going?

Anonymous said...

Cruz has always has the last name of Cruz or Shearon Cruz. Check your facts.

Laura Shearon Cruz said...

This is Judge Laura Shearon Cruz. My name was legally changed in 2012 when I got married. I first applied to be a judge six years later, in 2018.

I see Altfield has been consistent since taking the bench in county.

Whatever Laura's name is, she's an insufferable snob...
