QUOTAS

The Justice Department of Jefferson Beauregard Sessions has a plan to speed up deportations: Quotas!

The Justice Department will not issue evaluations of immigration judges based on how many cases they close a year the Washington Post reported here:

“That is a huge, huge, huge encroachment on judicial independence,” said Dana Leigh Marks, spokeswoman and former president of the association and a judge for more than 30 years. “It’s trying to turn immigration judges into assembly-line workers.”

Gee, ya think?

One of the smartest Judges ever to wear a robe in the REGJB- the late Judge Philip Knight, closed three cases before 8 Am. We're not kidding. Judge Knight would have his clerks bring the calendar and files the night before. He would get to chambers early in the morning and read every file and motion and by the time court started he was ready to hear arguments, issue rulings and try cases. He had the lowest case load of any judge in the REGJB. And he was a heck-of-a-nice guy to boot. And he didn't need any quotas to do his job superbly well.

Meanwhile, cheers to an independent media:
Here's the link to the viral video of all the news broadcasters being forced to read a propaganda statement from Sinclair Broadcast Group.

From Occupied America, where the right-wing media has been turned, fight the power of propaganda.

Here's the scoop.
Bagley will retire in mid April.
Cueto goes to probate.
Richard Hersch is back in Cueto's court.
That didn't take long did it?

Judge Will Thomas ran the best docket in the building and naturally had the lowest audit as well.

Judges complaining about being judged is pretty rich, though. "No... Not fair! I thought I had tenure. I could kick these cans down the road forever, especially if I disagree with immigration law."

Sorry sweetheart, if the evidence has been presented to support deportation, it's your job to make it swift and just.

I used to feel the same when I was a teacher and my incompetent colleagues complained. "Why am I being judged by my results? This is not a corporation." So we should care about kids less than profits? 40% of your kids failed to make progress in reading.

Tell 'em Mr. President: You're fired!

By the way, is MSNBC in the fake news category or is it only conservatives. Do you listen and believe MSNBC drivel?

Judge Knight was old school and one of our best ever. He was an experienced trial lawyer and unlike those of today did not come out of the SAO looking for a paycheck. I was privileged to try a few cases before him. Once the jury went out he sent his baliff over to Sally Russell's and brought back drinks for all counsel while the jury deliberated and told war stories that entertained all. We dont see the likes of Phil, Weatherington, Cowart Ed Klein and others anymore. With the exception of Judge Hanzman and a very few others the bench is as weak as it has ever been.I long for the ole days.....

How confusing. Hersch will be in 2-4 and Hirsch in 2-3.

So Pooler gets dragged from her division against her will, Cueto comes in for 3 months and then her division is given to Hersch. Not that I mind Hersch who is one of our better judges but where is the logic in this?

Makes sense to put Hirsch and Hersch next to each other. A defendant in the wrong courtroom won't have far to go to get to the correct one. Should be easier for the defendants.

Decided to represent the President. And you’ll be pleased to learn that I have advised him to submit to an interview with Mr. Mueller.

What’s more, we have very few special conditions. As a matter fact, only the same conditions given to Secretary Clinton:

1. An exoneration letter is drafted in advance.

2. Immunity is given to top Trump aides (and they’re allowed to sit in on interview).

3. Interview isn’t recorded.

4. Lead official (Mueller) doesn’t attend.

5. #2 official’s family has received large donations from Trump political friends.

6. Prior to the interview, lead official meets privately on plane tarmac with Trump's wife (to discuss grandchildren).

7. Main interviewer has expressed disdain for Trump’s opponents, such as discussing an “insurance plan” with higher-ups to undermine them.

8. As long as they believe Trump didn't intend any harm, he's let off the hook for any violations.

9. If Trump becomes a target, it should be referred to as a "matter" not an investigation.

10. Trump aides should be permitted to destroy subpoenaed or relevant public records and wipe relevant servers with a cloth or something.

Bagley's gone? Wont miss him at all.

11:10 PM: you are posting close to midnight. No wonder you won't miss a judge who was so disciplined, smart and hard-working. I'm pretty sure Judge Bagley will NOT miss you either.

I miss Judge Bagley already.
