YOUNG V.20

(Updated with a hot fed rumor below)
David Young is back on the bench!

And he is really really excited about it and wants everyone to know how happy he is to be back.

We've been thinking about other Judges who have voluntarily resigned and then gotten their position back.

The only name that comes to mind is Judge Joe Farina. He left the bench, returned and then had a good run as chief of criminal court and then Chief Judge.

FED RUMOR
When compared to our humble REGJB, the feds rumor mill is downright G rated. But then everyone's favourite federal blogger dropped this rumor in his first working day post of 2017 imaginatively entitled "2017!" :
Speaking of District Judges, there is a rumor going around that one of our own DJs is interested in the new U.S. Attorney slot.  Anyone else hearing this?

Considering DOM spent part of the holidays photo bombing and taking selfies with the President Elect of the United States on Trump's private golf course in Jupiter (belying his image as a defense attorney of the proletariat) , he would appear to know something about this.

This is a juicy one. Any ideas?

See you in court.

Judge Harvey Shenberg. He will be back in 2018. He was a great guy and a mentor to all.

The Shenberg comment is a joke. The Sepe comment is incorrect because Sepe resigned under investigation, although he had a remarkable Trump like comeback by running for county court after his scandalous resignation- winning- and then against ALL odds, getting an appointment to circuit court, before throwing it all away in the Court Broom Scandal.

Tom Scott- did he resign from the state bench and get re-appointed to the state bench? Our memory is that after resigning from the state bench, he went in to private practice and then was appointed to the federal bench, served a term there, and then resigned and went back into private practice where he now reigns at Cole Scott and Kissane.

Ed Cowart quit to teach at the national judges college and came back.

The US attorney spot was already offered to someone here, not a Judge, and the person declined. There's more to the story but that's all you get here.

President Elect Trump will NOT use a Federal JNC. He will NOT rely on any recommendations from Senators Rubio or Nelson.

He will simply select who he wants after he clears the name with the AG.

That is already a given for the State of Florida. Hence, look for the private attorneys that contributed to now be our Federal Judges and U.S. Attorney.

*** This is a fact

Scott served as U.S attorney after being a federal judge.

Your question: Tom Scott- did he resign from the state bench and get re-appointed to the state bench? Answer: Tom was appointed to the State bench and resigned to enter private practice. He was then appointed to Fed. bench and again resigned to enter private practice. He was then appointed U.S. Attorney and is now once again in private practice.

Scott was a baliff to Judge Kehoe when Kehoe was a circuit court judge. Scott, despite his resume is like a vanilla wafer, not much taste. He also has never tried a jury trial alone.....
