Here we go start of week two for football. We have the AFC perennial powerhouse Miami Dolphins Buffalo Bills opening their new stadium against the Detroit Lions. Both teams survived scares in week one, with the Lions hanging on and winning when New Orleans failed on a 2 point conversion in Overtime. Current line is Buffalo -5.5 O/U 55. Yuck. We do not love either line. If we have to pick then take Detroit to at least keep it close and ...umm...this is hard...we still like the under just a little.
Everyone is picking the Bills and saying Detroit's defense is banged up. Maybe so, but we just do not love the line. BUT, last week Buffalo TE Dalton Kincaid had 5 receptions for over 130 yards, and Detroit's secondary is hurting, so take Kincaid over 53 yards. Teams coming off a Sunday overtime win playing a Thursday night game cover at 23%, so that speaks further to picking the Bills. And yet sometimes you have to just go against the odds. The Lions with Gibbs and St Brown can run with anyone, so if anything maybe take the over.
Rumpole tip- here in the Northeast the weather has been glorious. Fall is here and we love it. But the weather for this Sunday is looking pretty bad, with storms and heavy rains predicted for the Jets/Packers game and that means the under, which we jumped on earlier in the week. You can still get under 44.5, and right now we like it.
The key to this game is which team can bring the safeties down to shut down the run without giving up chunk plays (love that term) in play action.

Ai contraire mon Ami. The key to this game is the interior o line play. Whichever team’s guards dominate will prevail.
ReplyDeleteHaving watched Allen run four times and score a TD the key to this game are the Lions interior linebackers spying Allen and stopping his scrambles. So far they get a d minus. Step it up gentleman or suffer the consequences
ReplyDeleteHow about the Bills giving trump the middle finger and signing the canadian national anthem before the game ? Gotta love it. Hope they start flying the European Union flag at stadiums soon. Globalism baby. Globalism.
ReplyDeleteAllen is on fire. 🔥 he’s dope
