No condemnation of Israel for killing the children in Gaza killed over the last 18 months, no condemning Israel for unilaterally bombing Iran first. In August 1953 the CIA and its confederates overthrew the democratically-elected government of Iran, Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddegh, in order to protect British oil interests that had been nationalized, and to install the Shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. On October 12, 2023, AP (and others) reported that "The CIA now officially describes the 1953 coup it backed in Iran that overthrew its prime minister and cemented the rule of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi as undemocratic."

Let's not forget that Obama had a treaty with Iran, that Iran was complying with, but Netanyahu hated the idea of Iran normalizing relations with the west. The Republicans saw an opportunity to try and drive a wedge between Jews and the Democratic party on Israel, and bang - Trump unilaterally withdraws from a treaty that was working.
Netanyahu deserves credit for again manipulating the US into spending billions of dollars and entering a conflict that even Trump did not want. All the while he is slaughtering innocent women and children in Gaza and the West Bank, so that Israel and continue to build settlements in the West Bank and kill as many Palestinians as possible in Gaza. We are morally bankrupt for choosing to support Israel as we have been. And if you think that whether the regime in Iran falls or not will impact that fact that all of this is going to come back and bite us in the ass hard, you are a fool. But hooray - we blew some shit up in Iran. Will be good for a little while, then the bill will come due.

What about our history of Middle East intervention makes you think we are remotely capable of anything productive there? The only certainty is a lot of innocent people will die, and many more will lose everything. You ought to have a damn good reason to go to war, we don’t have even a bad reason. Iran is not developing a nuclear weapon per our own intelligence, and diplomacy was working very well except Trump didn’t like that Obama was behind the diplomacy and blew it up—now literally. Being pro this war will age worse than being pro Iraq war did, not that most who are cheerleading this will ever admit they were wrong about that, they’ll just ignore even to themselves that they supported it and bought all the rah rah propaganda because it looks so obviously dumb now.
