EPIC COLLAPSE & EPIC RUN

Your Miami Heat are on the verge of an epic, choking collapse, as after going up 3-0 in their playoff series again the Celtics, the series is now 3-2, with the Heat having collapsed like the little losers they are. Game 6 is in Miami and then.....game 7 is in Boston (cue Jaws theme music).

It's not the Heat that we really do not like, it is you- their Miami front-running fans who only show up for the playoffs wearing your fancy foo-foo white shirts and screaming and yelling like you've watched every game this year when we all know that as front-running phony Miami fans you don't even pay attention until game seven of the playoffs.

The Florida Panthers are another story. Barely making the playoffs as the last seed, the never say die Panthers steamrolled their way to the Stanely Cup finals with an over-the-hill goalie- Sergei Bobrovsky (34), and a remarkable forward- Matthew Tkachuck- who has shown an unbelievable ability to score the game winning goal three times in these playoffs.

Celtics/ Heat in Miami Game 6 Saturday night.

Celtics/ Heat in Boston, Game 7 Monday night.

Enjoy your holiday weekend watching your team collapse.

Courts are closed Monday and flags will be at half-staff Tuesday mourning (no not Alonso Mourning) you know who.

  3. Front runners and proud. I love how much it upsets people that Heat fans only show up when they win. Everybody loves a winner but keep crying people from boring cities like boston.

  4. What a silly idea - that there is something wrong with only showing up to sporting events when the teams you root for is likely to win.

NBA, NHL, NFL, etc are for-profit sports entertainment. They are products. If the Heat suck, they are not putting on an entertaining product. Why in the world would anyone patronize a boring event (i.e. pay for a bad product)?

Let's compare it to restaurants. Imagine that restaurant X served amazing food and had tremendous service. I'd likely tell all my friends about it. I'd go back again and again. I might post pictures of my family enjoying the food on social media. And then lets say that the chef left and was replaced by a new chef, or that the chef just burned out and wasn't cooking to his old standards anymore. Would you criticize if I stopped going to the restaurant? Of course not. And if then that same restaurant made another series of changes to improve and recapture its former glory. Would you criticize me for for going back? Again, of course not. For-profit sports entertainment are the same.

  5. Dude - nobody cares if you call us fair weather fans. There is too much to do down here. I don't want to spend my time or money watching a team that looooooses. I will go to the beach, or on the boat, or shopping, or people watching. Now, if the team is winning and the games matter, I am all in. So yes, I am a Miami fan - I love the Canes, if the Heat or Phins are winning, I will watch, maybe tailgate. But if they suck - fuck em...I'd rather spend the 250 it costs to go to the game on something else.

By the way - this is exactly how the teams view us. They don't give a shit about the people or community. Look at what the Marlins did to their world championship team years ago.

  7. To all you loser miami fans you don’t know what it means to support a team through thick or thin. So that when your team is winning you have an emotional connection with the stars who you watched struggle when things were bad.
Like the 1969 Mets. Or the 69 Jets. Or the 70 Knicks. Or the 2016 Cubs. Or the current KC Chiefs. I don’t mind if you’re a fair weather fan what I hate is when you show up and scream and yell as if you’ve been doing this for years. The fakery of the devotion is what makes me sick. Pretty much only Judge Colodny is a true Heat fan as near as I can tell.

  8. I called the Shumie yesterday at 430 with my GF on my 35 contender. Tonight she will turn heads at Prime at 8 if you want to see a real hottie Rump. Then back to my condos and tomorrow on the boat with her and a few of her close yoga friends. 😍😈

  9. Tell me you don't follow hockey, without telling me you don't follow hockey. Bobrovsky over the hill at 34? The 20/21 Vezina winner was 36 (Marc-Andre Fleury) and the 17/18 winner was 36 (Pekka Rinne), etc...Martin Brodeur won it four times at ages 30, 31, 34 and 35.

More important, can you imagine how Alex Michaels would be taking this? Might be the only time he would ask for a trial continuance so he could possibly go to Vegas (or Dallas) in the Stanley Cup Finals.

  12. Rumpole's just upset that the Heat destroyed his beloved New York Knicks. It's kind of interesting that he didn't start this anti-Heat rant until (for the first time all playoffs) they lost two games in a row. Believe me, he's been hiding his Heat hate until it looks like they might actually lose a series. Come to think of it, that's the same sort of behavior he slams bandwagonning Heat fans for, i.e., not showing support until you're on the winning side.

  13. And your point is what exactly?
Oh yeah and nothing about my support for the Panthers ?

Let’s go Celtics! Game 7 in Boston baby.

  15. LOL @ Rumpole whining about fans having no connection to the players who you watched stuggle. The players don't care about me one bit so why should I care about them? They get paid to play a game and that's as simple as it gets. When they win, I show up. When they win they get the glory and get to go live their lavish lives. Trust me, they're not sad one bit.

  16. I feel sorry for "true fans" like Rumpole who "support a [billions dollar for-profit] team through thick or thin" and who "have an emotional connection with the stars" despite the fact that those "stars" don't even know your name - much less have an emotional connection with you.

There is no "fakery of devotion" here - there is acknowledgment of reality. "Sports" like the NBA, NFL, etc are businesses, and nothing else. Those businesses sell entertainment. And we consume that entertainment product when and how we like.

Staying loyal to an entertainment product that doesn't entertain and doesn't know you or care about you is kind of sad.
