THE INS AND OUTS OF BEING A JUDGE

FIRST: Do we really want someone who espouses communist ideals of guilty until proven innocent a Judge?  DO NOT VOTE FOR RENIER DE LA PORTILLA

I ENDORSE RENIER DIAZ DE LA PORTILLA  FOR JUDGE HE IS A TRUE COMMUNIST

IF ELECTED I WILL NOT PRESUME PEOPLE ARRESTED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUULTY

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE CHECK AND SEE IF THAT COCKAROACH IS A MEMBER OF FACDL MIAMI? AND IF SO, THROW HIS ASS OUT AND LET HIM CRAWL BACK INTO THE CRACKS FROM WHENCE HE CAME.

It's that time of year again. Heat melting car tires. Humidity wilting the steel girders on buildings.  And your Circuit Court Judges going on an educational sabbatical.

Here is a list of judges who will be out (drop a dollop of sunscreen off in their chambers and wish them bon voyage)

August 1-3 OUT

Altfield , Brinkley, Cabarga, Cruz, Delancy, De La O, Hersch , Hirsch, James, Jean , Miranda, Rebull, Ruiz, Tinkler-Mendez, Trawick, Vizcaino

*NOTE Glazer is out (Bond will be covered by Senior Judge)

Meanwhile Judges Hanzman and Colby have reportedly started the agonizing process of listening to the next of kin of the victims of the Surfside tragedy to try and apportion the one billion dollars in the damages pool. No summer vacay for them, as they work to bring closure to families who lost loved ones.

This is the work of judges we rarely see and even more rarely comment on. In both criminal and civil, judges are confronted with the remnants of disasters and tragedies - both criminal and civil in nature. Many times all they can do is listen to the victims and next of kin; commiserate with their loss, and let them know they have been heard. At least this time things are different. We only really have one way to compensate people for their loss- money. And in this case, there is sufficient money to help the next of kin move on with their lives. Pay for the loss of their home and possessions and allow them to try and start over, with the understanding no amount of money can address the loss of human life, the loss of love and companionship.

Maybe we do not say this enough, but if you see Judge Hanzman or Colby, tell them how impressed you are with their dedication to work quickly to give these poor, innocent people the closure they need to move on. Sitting day after day and trying to understand the devastating loss each of the 98 separate cases have suffered is not an easy task. It has to take its toll on these two men. We wish them well.

BTW HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUDGE ED COWART. And if you don't know who he was, shame on you. What we do know is that Miami's greatest judge would have been shaken to his core with the possibility that some moronic idiot who doesn't believe in the presumption of innocence could be a judge.

  1. Shouldn’t the blog title say “Renier Diaz de la Portilla Is a Communist” in English and in Spanish so the message gets out to Google searchers?

  4. I just spoke with Oscar Fonts. I have known him for many years. I also had a 5 day jury trial before him in criminal court. He is a really decent guy.
    1. He had accepted an invitation to be at the Christian thing well before Roe was reversed.
    2. He only spoke for about 5 minutes and simply introduced himself and said what he was running for.
    3. He did not endorse anything about Abortion rights or wrongs.
    4. He NEVER signed any letter saying he was anti gay or anti woman or anti golden retriever.
    5. I just got a text calling Oscar a "radical " judge. Boy, he is anything but, radical.
    6. The text is more horrible than what that asshole Diaz de la Portilla did. Portilla said Fred Seraphin was an armed robber knowing it was not true.
    7. Jason Bloch accused Oscar of things much worse.
Portilla and Bloch will have their hands full if they win the election because the JQC will not tolerate that kind of campaign win at all costs tactics.

  5. Motions are being made to terminate the membership of Portilla with FACDL.

  7. DOM *great article* up in arms about Alito mocking foreign leaders at an event sponsored by a group who filed an amicus.

Do you think these idiots even realize RBG literally called Trump a faker?

  8. DOM's client Dr. Larry Rudolph. AKA Safari Dentist, found guilty of first degree murder in Denver today
    Wow.

  9. Oscar Rodríguez Font is a good judge and 4:32’s explanation makes sense. The timing was bad and unfortunately Bloch is already starting to use it against ORF. As an aside, blumstein and Tylman have to be very happy other candidates are getting bad press. Let’s not forget about them. Tylman has no business on any ballot and Blumstein should be reported to the JQC and DoD for his improper sailor billboards without any notice as required. I’m unsure how someone with such lack of ethics can be an active sitting judge at the same time.

  10. Rumpole and folks, respectfully, you have it all backwards. If that guy really said and believes that he can be a judge and not enforce/trumpet/read-mandatory-jury-instructions-about the presumption of innocence, he wants to be in the Florida Association of Attic Marchers and Las Trumpistas, not any club that would have you as a member. So don't kick him out, give him lifetime memebrship. Give him some honors like "Most Likely to Just Follow Orders," Revolving Doorman, or Jackboot Shine Assistant. Then start cranking press releases about it.

  11. Female lawyer here--I, too, got the text about Judge Oscar Rodriguez Fronts. I like ORF and was concerned about the allegations in the text. I contacted him because I wanted to hear his side. Here are the facts about Judge Oscar Rodriguez-Fonts: 1) The Christian Family Coalition does not endorse candidates. CFC rates candidates based on qualifications. 2) The event was not an event touting the overturn of Roe v. Wade. It was a candidate breakfast planned months in advance, and the opinion came out less than 24 hours before the event. ORF introduced himself and said he was running for reelection. He spoke for less than 3 minutes. ORF did not express an opinion for or against abortion rights or any other political issue. 3) ORF did not sign a letter denouncing women's rights groups & LGBTQ groups.

Mr. Block, if you are associated with the text message claiming that OFR signed such a letter, PRODUCE IT! If you are not the impetus for the text message, you should come forward and denounce the text message and its implications.

  13. Renier was a weasel when he was a PD. He was practicing on the side then too.
None of this surprises me. He always was a "the ends justify the means" kind of guy. No ethics at all.
