  2. I'm sitting in Judge Watson's Zoom with 7 other private lawyers waiting for the judge to finish going through 17 pages of arraignments. WHY? Why not call the private lawyers who are sitting here with our cameras on staring at you. Catch a clue buddy. You're just pissing us off. Finally, at 9:56am he starts calling the private lawyers.

  3. The courts are opening up and masks are optional...what is the worst that could happen? Look to Manatee County https://www.cnn.com/2021/06/22/us/florida-manatee-county-coronavirus-outbreak/index.html

  4. Who is Watson, Where does he/she sit? In Dade, or Broward Circuit or County?

  6. Only a private lawyer's time is valuable I guess

  7. Don't need a jerk. My time is not more valuable but I am required to be in different courtrooms. You don't have to explain to the next judge why I'm showing up 90 minutes late. And by the way almost all of the arraignment defendants were not even present in court nor were their lawyers. So it was just a waste of my time sitting there. It would have been more efficient also to call the numerous defendants that were sitting on camera instead of calling a bunch of people who aren't present. It is disrespectful of everyone's time.

  8. 1:56, yes privates time in this scenario actually is more important than pds or Asa's who only have one courtroom..did u consider that before posting?

  9. Judge Watson has his sights firmly set on a federal appointment. You state court hacks can sit down and stfu. He will be gone in a wink.

  10. Venzer is the worse. She simply will not call a lawyer out of turn.

To you Mr./Ms. 1: 56 pm, the reason is simple. We cannot ben in 4 courtrooms at 9:01 at the same time. The other reason is that we, the defense Bar pay the money to get those assholes elected in the first place.

  11. 1:56, it wasnt my post, but I can help explain it to you. Only private lawyers are also expected to be in front of other judges at the exact same time. Defendants, ASAs, PDs are not.

When privates are late for Judge X, because Judge B didn't call them out of turn, it means they will also be late for Judge Y. And when this snowballs entire calendars get fucked up, which wastes the time of everyone.

  12. Venzer is a horrible zoom judge

  13. They are building a new courthouse that will be technologically obsolete by the time it is finished. Maybe they can complete it, knock it down, and build a jail there.

  14. There goes John McAfee.
So ends the run of a formerly-rich kooky fugitive.

  15. We have many wonderful judges but some are simply clueless. We should call out all the Judges who are. This blog can influence an election.

  16. Venzer will not call you out of turn. She will make you wait for hours sometimes. Not nice.

Lizzette Martinez will not allow you to use chat.

    Hey judges, work with us!!!!!

  17. If you get to know Judge Watson, you will like him. He is kind and polite. He bends over backwards to help people. He wants to do the right thing every day. I like him.

  18. Judge Watson is outstanding but he gotta take privates out of turn.

  19. Martinez needs to come to the courthouse on the weekends and practice, she is soooo green. Venzer needs to transfer out of criminal ( it is obvious she is burnt out). Venzer's zoom practice is indicative of who she is... an entitled blue-blood who cannot empathize with the practice of law since she has very little experience as an attorney

  20. Giuliani suspended from the practice of law. Well earned and deserved. He is a disgrace to the profession, to the SDNY and the nation.

  21. Watson's problem is not one of politeness or calling people out of turn. He has no idea how to call a calendar, no time management skills, and thinks he is smarter than everyone in the room/Zoom.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The adventures in Watson continue. His court website says he expects you to be on time and that he will be on time himself. Today he was 16 minutes late getting on the zoom. Then he starts with the arraignments as private lawyers sit there waiting. When he begins to call the people who checked in on the chat he decides to skip all the ones that are there for sounding which is basically everyone. He spends more time skipping the people who are there for sounding than it would take him to actually sound the case. What a disaster. One lawyer threw her hands up in the air when he told her to wait until he decides to start the sounding calendar.

  23. I am sick of Venzer too.

She made me wait while she did in custody arraignments and then all kinds of other nonsense.

One hour and 25 minutes I waited.

She is getting opposition if she keeps this up.

  24. Dudes….chill. It’s zoom. You can literally zoom into three different courtrooms at once. Laptop, phone, and desktop. Keep the landline open for any calls. Not a big deal. If you get called in two at the same time, just ask to pass for a moment. If you are waiting, pick up a depo and read it. Or a law review article. Or whatever. Quit your bitching! The only person who should be upset is Scott Saul because blue jeans on zoom just aren’t as cool as they are in court.

  25. After being in her court a few times as a private attorney, I'm a huge fan of Judge Lizzette Martinez. She is truly a wonderful Judge.

She really cares about justice and being fair to defendants. She bends over backwards to make sure they understand what they need to do and helps them get a fair shake. Yeah, maybe that looks "green" because that kind of attitude from a Judge is so refreshing and unusual. She's a breathe of fresh air. She doesn't cater to the state or private attorneys yet is respectful to all.

  26. Venzer used to be OK but, now, a disaster. Send her to family!

  27. Venzer shows such an obvious interest in AA/NA/SA issues that I dont see why she isnt put in charge of Drug Court.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Venzer is full of herself. She'd better get transferred out of criminal division or she'll be the next Tunis.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Venzer; dismissive , biased, I’ll-tempered , plays to favorites and obviously burnt out. If she was truly a dedicated change , she’d voluntarily transfer out of criminal since she is a detriment to the criminal bench She so much deserves the bashing she’s getting.

  30. Perkins is worse than Venzer. He can barely get through arraignments, and takes forever to call cases. I've heard that he routinely ends calendars after 3 too.

  31. boo hoo the privates have to wait.
