"My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, & reason as his only absolute."
Ayn Rand
February 2, 1905- March 2, 1982.
Ayn Rand followers ought to read Upton Sinclair's, The Jungle, for a philosophy that more accurately describes current day corporate reality.

I am not smart enough to care who Mr. Rand is.
ReplyDeleteWhat writing - fiction or non fiction if Ms Rand’s supports the corporation over an individual ? You confuse her defense Of private property - including the creation of a business - versus the evil super corporation trampling people. That is what I discern from your comment. And you are wrong.
ReplyDeleteRe 9:54: Both philosophies have merit and shortcomings. However, it gets dystopic when wealth distribution overly favors corporations, just as when wealth distribution overly favors the masses. Trouble is found in the extremes. Love canal vs. Fidel.
ReplyDeleteHomophobe.
ReplyDeleteRight on 6:27!
ReplyDeleteSince I am not a college student and I have employed portions of Ms. Rand's philosophy to achieve a very high degree of success and because I very much accept her epistemological assertion that property rights are the basis of all rights, and since this blog is MY intellectual property, I have exercised my rights to NOT publish your comment. And since this is a widely read blog by many (and unfortunately you as well) my success in this endeavor is apparent. Or as Ms Rand would say: "A is A".
ReplyDeleteI refer you to Ms Rand's essay "The Virtue Of Selfishness". When you have a moment between binging on reruns of the Simpsons while eating potato chips and swilling diet coke, you might want to better yourself and read it- not that I have any altruistic concerns about your welfare. As a committed Objectivist, I do not.
I've read your blog. Don't need to tell me that you pursue a life of selfishness.
ReplyDeleteAh grasshopper. You have eyes but you cannot see.
