The los of Judge Johnson is a real blow. He was patient, well-prepared, had excellent judicial temperament, and will be wasted in Civil. His replacement should have gone to Civil, because that is where all of his experience is.

ReplyDeleteCharlie Johnson is great. Certainly one of the half dozen best judges in REG in the last decade. I don’t think he is being forced to go to civil I think he probably has reasons to want to go there. I do hate scrambling to resolve a case the weeks of Xmas/New Years because of these rotations right after the holidays.
ReplyDeleteCharlie Johnson is two things. A great judge and an even better human being. His popularity is well deserved as he is smart, well read, hard working and most importantly genuinely respectful of all the people he affects. The surprise is Judge Diraimundo. She is off to a very impressive start and displays the same class as Johnson. I doubt their successors will fill their shoes.
