Lobree and Walsh would be fine
ReplyDeleteI think it's time for Bronwyn Miller to be elevated. She is fair and certainly respects your time. It does not take months for her to rule... She would be a great addition to the Third.
ReplyDeleteWalsh is the best candidate, I hope she gets the spot. Criminal experience, civil experience, a fair judicial temperament, and an obsession with getting it right.
ReplyDeleteRebull is a solid pick. Reads. Thinks. Is prepared. Follows the law. Sounds simple, but most judges don't seem to measure up to that standard.
ReplyDeleteI am sure that Hirsch and Hanzman knew they had no chance of getting appointed by Rick Scott. This is a terrifying list. I guess...Walsh? I don't think there's one other name that would be remotely fair to criminal defendants.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see Lobree and Walsh
ReplyDeleteHendon is a very good trial judge. I have tried a few before him. could live with Walsh as well/ Might be good for the Plaintiffs bar. Far better the Rottenberg. Gordo is a former gang prosecutor would not be good for defendants or Plaintiffs. No civil experience as a lawyer. And bad altitude as a prosecutor.
ReplyDeleteZayas is a dark horse. Brilliant jurist with an excellent command of the law.
ReplyDeleteWhy is Judge Martin Zilber not the Administrative Judge of the Criminal Division?
ReplyDeleteJudge Hanzman would have been a walk on but im glad hes staying put
ReplyDeleteThis was the court of Daniel Pearson, Wilkie Ferguson, Phillip Hubbart, Natalie Baskin,
ReplyDeleteRobert Shevin, and Alan Schwartz. It's a sign of the times and terrifying that some of these
applicants even THINK they are qualified.
Gotta love the humility of Alex Bokor. A little less than 2 years on the county bench and he is ready for the 3rd DCA or even the FSC.
ReplyDeleteLobree and Miller are absolutely terrible. Who is pushing them. Does anyone remember the absolute absence of common sense and the disrespect to people rights that were daily servings in Lobree’s court? Not only was she profoundly rejected by the citizens of Dade county twice, but save for a couple of her prosecutor friends she had zero supporters from the lawyers who appeared before her. Miller openly prosecuted people from the bench. Prosecutors in her court would complain that she would step on their necks while going after defendants and attorneys. They could barely speak. Just replay her performance when Mathewman and Millian represented an innocent man in spite of her Herculean efforts and then repost. Geez! Walsh is fantastic. A class act.
ReplyDeleteAnything that replaces Leslie Rothenberg would be an improvement at the 3rd DCA.
ReplyDeleteI had thought more of Ayana Harris. She is applying to be appointed judge by Rick Scott but she is openly mocking of him on Facebook. Nice person but show a little more political game. Just sayin.
ReplyDeleteI think it’s a solid slate and that there are a few applicants that would be great additions- Walsh, Rebull, Miller, Gordo to name a few. As for Hanzman I’ve been reading the blog praising and was skeptical until I just read 35 page Order in DBR dissecting condo statutes. This guy is at a different level. How the hell is he not doing complex business. Our court adm is either incompetent or asleep at the wheel.
ReplyDeleteListen here RUMPOLE. I can’t go an entire weekend without seeing a new post or at least reading new comments. Be fair. You are cruel.
ReplyDeleteStop taking weekends off!

CAP OUT .....
Ed Guedes has a reputation for being smart--putting aside whether he has the necessary ties to the Governor to get appointed. But the guy is an established appellate practitioner with a decent reputation. It's good to see a practicing attorney apply for this type of position--that seems to be happening less and less these days. Rebull, however, would be my top choice. Bronwyn Miller gives me serious concerns because (a) her temperament is off and (b) she's not humble enough to recognize what her weak spots are. Hanzman would be great as well but likely didn't apply because he knows the Governor would not appoint him--BUT no doubt he's brilliant (albeit acerbic at times).
