GET WELL SOON

This email went out today.

Friends & colleagues, many of you have been inquiring about our good friend Stan.  Stan underwent a very lengthy robotic surgery at UM for oral throat cancer, the surgery went very well, and in about 6 weeks he will undergo intense radiation therapy. Stan is still in ICU, and will be at UM for the balance of the week. Obviously he has taken a leave of absence from the Family Bench.  I spoke to him this morning, and he is upbeat and positive, and sends thanks to all of his well wishers for their prayers and support.  Feel free to email him gatorjudge13@gmail.com, since talking is difficult for now. Best, Bruce

  3. Yeah. Well. Get well. No hard feelings. That was a long time ago.

  4. If it was me I would prefer any doctor to operate on me and not some stinking robot machine without feelings. But that is me.

  5. Here's the 10:15 friends of Stan (FOS) update. He had some ice chips and asked for jello and tuned the TV to espn. Stay tuned for the all important 1030 uodate when we will cover the changing of the slippers.

Stan, our friendship of over 35 years has been one of the constants in my life. You supported me through tough times, and now it is time to return your kindness. Know I will be there for you for whatever you may need. Get well soon Buddy.

  10. You notice that you never see Emeka Okofor, Mike Krzyzweski and John Teixeira ever in the same place at the same time. I'm no conspiracy theorist, but it seems a might suspicious to me.

  13. Judge Blake is one of the niecest people I ever practiced before and if you have anything negative to say about him you better remain anonymous. The Judge Hoeveler of the Gerstein Building.

  16. When is the county going to do a cancer epidemiological study in the REGB? Way too many judges, lawyers, clerks, cops, etc. getting cancers at young ages.

    Are you kidding me?

That is the only response for the kindest, nicest, most generous Judge ever to grace us with his presence?

Judge Blake has been a best friends to all of us. His wit and great sense of humor has made us feel better about ourselves and always brings our ego into check.

I love Judge Blake. I pray for his recovery. I pray for him to not feel pain. God bless you Judge Blake. You are the BEST. You are loved by all.

  18. 10:13 How can you belittle and make fun of the genuine concern expressed for a fellow human being who is going though such a traumatic health crisis? It is really not funny. You must be a very lonely person with no love in your life. Perhaps someone very close to you has hurt you deeply.
Do not be afraid to open your heart to love and sensitive feelings.

Keep the information flowing as to the status of Judge Blake's health. He is in my prayers. I remember his selflessness in donating a kidney to his brother. He is a brave man who is very much loved by all who know him.

"If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway."

  20. Personally I don't think the 10-13 comment was out of line if you read the emails about his condition. It was just a silly comment and not a knock on Stan who we all hope will be up and skiing soon.

  21. Does the judge really want his business on blast? This is pretty weird.
