SECURITY: Apparently there is still some confusion on the security IDS:
Rumpole,
there has been numerous requests on the blog for information on renewing the REGJB Security IDs. Please share the following email with your readers.
SECURITY ID INFORMATION
RENEWALS:
If you have previously been issued a card which has expired, or took your picture but never picked up a card, then your new card has already been printed and is available for pick-up at the AOC Human Resources Office at the Lawson E. Thomas Courthouse, Monday through Friday before 3:00 pm without the need to make an appointment. When going to pick up your new ID card, you will be required to the following:
- The cardholder and only the cardholder, must bring and sign the attached 'Security ID Acknowledgement Form'.
- The cardholder must bring a printout from the Florida Bar website indicating that they are currently a ‘Member in Good Standing’ (use this link, enter your name, print).
- The cardholder must bring a check or money order made payable to 'Miami-Dade County' in the amount of $10.00.
- The cardholder must surrender their old ID card (if the old ID has been lost, make that check for $20 instead).
NOTE: If you previously applied for an ID and were approved, but you never went to have a picture taken, then you can’t just show up, instead you must call (305) 349-7351 to make an appointment to sit for your picture.
Your friendly neighborhood PD and FACDL guy Brian Kirlew sent the email and has all the info you need to avoid those long line.
Planet Hillary: She's already running. Time to get out those old email addresses for Hugh Rodham. For those of you who don't know, Hillary's brother was a PD right here in Dade County. And so was his brother Tony for a short time.
Remembering Richard Sharpstein and the tragic way he ended his life, this CNN report asks why lawyers are killing themselves? The article has some scary tales, but also this sop: "Lawyers are prone to depression." Really? Stop the presses!
Roy Black, he of Bieber fame, has an audio of a Richard Sharpstein closing argument on his blog here. Richard was truly a performer at heart.
Remember that the Super Bowl is coming up this Sunday. We'll have all you need to know, including what bets to make, and of course, our never fail guarantee on the coin toss.
See You In Court.
Rump, you are wrong.
ReplyDeleteHugh Rodham was a PD in drug court. No rocket scientist but, a nice guy.
His brother Tony was a proses server and is not a member of the Bar. Just look it up on Google.
Tony later married Senator Barbara Boxer's daughter. Now divorced.
No. I am right. I only make about one mistake a year and this isnt it. Hugh was a PD in several courtrooms. I personally tried an attempted murder case with him when he had a co-def. he did work in drug court but he was a pd well before Stan Goldstein was the first judge there. Tony was a pd. Couldn't pass the bar so he worked as an "investigator" while he tried.
ReplyDeleteRumpy
ReplyDeleteAre you saying Tony Rodham was a CLI and never passed the Bar? I really doubt it. He was my process server too for about 5 years.
I don't remember him having attended law school.
I can call Hugh and ask him.
Maybe you can be wrong twice just this one year.
I am vey certain handled regular felony divisions. I seem to remember that Tony's issue was that he couldn't/didn't pass the bar. I think I am right, but less certain.
ReplyDeleteSometimes wrong. Never in doubt.
Tony never graduated from college, let alone law school. You're getting your memories of Hugh mixed up with Tony; Hugh worked as an investigator in the P.D. Office while he tried to pass the Bar exam, and Tony worked as a prison guard, then a P.I. (and he was a good one), before becoming a millionaire. Tony never worked in any capacity for the P.D. Office. You were wrong, but now I know who you are.
ReplyDeleteHugh was the one who had trouble passing the bar Rump. He was hired by the PD and worked as an investigator until he finally passed. He then finally was an APD. Tony was a Process Server. Handled my subpoenaes for several years. He was not an APD.
ReplyDeleteRump is right. I tried a few cases with Tony before he failed the bar for the umpteenth time.

ReplyDeleteFrom WIKI:
He attended Iowa Wesleyan College and the University of Arkansas, although he never received a degree from either school.
Rodham did work for future brother-in-law Bill Clinton's 1974 nomination campaign for Congress.[3] He then worked at a metal equipment company in Texas,[2] did insurance sales in Chicago, acted as a repo man in Chicago (where shots were fired at him in the infamous Cabrini–Green housing project),[4] and worked as a prison guard,[4] before moving to South Florida in 1983. There he shared a condominium with his brother Hugh, and worked as a process server and private detective until 1992.[2] In 1992, during Bill Clinton's first presidential campaign, Rodham began working for the Democratic National Committee, coordinating constituency outreach.[2]

Pope Francis addressed the Vatican's Highest Judicial Tribunal, the Roman Rota, last Friday, regarding the qualities that the ideal Judge should possess.
ReplyDeleteJudicial candidates, present Sitting Judges, lawyers and all who have ears to hear.....
"In his remarks to the court on Friday, Pope Francis traced a brief profile of the ideal judge. Pope Francis explained that, on a human level, “A judge requires a human maturity,” expressed most clearly through, “detachment from personal views,” that allows the judge, “to immerse himself in the mindset and the legitimate aspirations of the community in which the service takes place.”
Regarding the way in which a judge ought to exercise his authority, Pope Francis spoke of the need for “objectivity” and “fairness [It. equità ]” that allow him, “to adjudicate with imperturbable and impartial equidistance,” from the parties and from his own personal tastes, opinions and preferences.
Pastorally, Pope Francis said the judge must have an authentic spirit of service. “[A judge] is the servant of justice,” he said, “called to treat and adjudicate the condition of the faithful who turn to him in trust.”

See I was right.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, before I said what I said about Tony, I too did a basic Google search.
Tony never went to law school.
Come on, Rump. Admit it.
All quiet on the Rumpole front.
ReplyDeleteI was friend w Hugh when he was at the PDs.
ReplyDeleteHe was in regular divisions. He was an A. He tried lots of Murders and Armed Robberies.
He was the first PD in Drug Court. He went to Drug Court a little before his Brother-in-Law began his campaign for the Dem Nomination.
