Before we get to today's topic, a little holiday housekeeping courtesy of the FACDL:
Dear Membership,
With the holiday season now in full swing FACDL is again joining hands with the Dade County Bar Association Homeless Outreach Committee to ensure that some of Miami's less fortunate children do not go without toys this year. Just as we did last year we will be setting up collection boxes on Wednesday in the REG Building to collect new, unwrapped toys that will be delivered to the families at the Champman Homeless Center in Miami. Through the efforts of Rick Freedman, and the assistance of Judge Yvonne Colodny, Carlos Martinez, Katherine Fernandez-Rundle, and the staff at Au Bon Pain, we arranged to have collections stations set up at Au Bon Pain restaurant on the first floor of the Justice Building, Judge Colodny's chambers in room 209, as well as both the State Attorney's Office, the Public Defender's Office.

Additionally, this year's FACDL Holiday party will be held on December 15th at the Miami-Dade Public Defender's Office. This year we are fortunate enough to have Administrative Judge Bertila Soto for what promises to be a very informative question and answer session. Just as last year, instead of charging an admission fee for this year's Holiday Party we are asking that attendees bring an unwrapped toy to be donated.
On December 21 at 6:00 pm there will be a holiday party at the Chapman Homeless Center where all the toys that have been collected will handed out to the children. The Dade County Bar Association welcomes, and urges, all the FACDL membership to attend. We are hoping that all of our members will make a point to attend this great event and contribute to this worthy cause. We had a wonderful turnout last year and with everyone's help we can top it this year. Happy holidays to all.

Below are the videos of a defendant (self and apparently secretly made) who doesn't want to give his name. Pity the poor overworked PDs who are trying to get the fool to just give them his name.
Anybody have any experience with these jerks popping up in Dade County?
Here's the Judge trying to get the idiot to say who he is.
Post script:
It appears that our hero messed with the wrong Judge when he showed up late to Raag Singhal's court. According to the Broward Blog the Judge issued an AC and when the genius showed up and started his games Ragg took him into custody because he wouldn't give testimony sufficient to allow Raag to vacate the AC. Upon being handcuffed our brave hero broke down and wanted to admit everything, but by then it was too late and as of last word Mr. Funny Guy is in the Broward County Jail. Now he has a number to go with his name.
"I got this bro..."
ReplyDeleteFamous last words.
Same a*hole has a series of videos on youtube of various court appearances, including an infraction hearing in Dade county from November.
ReplyDeleteSeems like he's trying to claim he's sovereign and doesn't consent to laws of the county.
Tried to get the Hearing Officer to recuse himself because the State represents 'the People' and the Judge represents 'the People' so there would be a conflict of interest.
I have dealt w/ clients like this. Most are Mentally Ill. Some , having been to prison, like to play these word games. Many are just assholes, who think they are smarter then me . The Last guy who tried to play these games w/ me, also tried to play them w/ the State and the Court. In trial he is going over his disco and getting hung up on the smallest irrelevant details. He got convicted.

Good Opinion piece, w/ interesting facts. I still believe in Legalization and personal responsibility. And YES, DUIs should still be illegal.

Delusions of grandure, feelings of persecution, borderline personality disorder?
ReplyDeleteJust a wise ass with a little bit of knoledge. I am amazed at the restraint shown by these judges. I can say I would not be so patient.
Isn't it a crime to record people without their knowledge?
A few comments-
ReplyDeleteFirst, the Direct TV guide has changed for those of us lucky enough to have the HD package. I'm thrilling on it.
Second, I recommend Nexium for heartburn/acid reflux.
Third, That PD in the first video- the one who curses and says "fu%k". She's a hottie. I could see taking her for a few drinks and then wrestling with her in the back seat. I bet she's a dirty lil PD. and I love that in a chick.
REMEMBER- Class M Planets Rule.
Rumpole
ReplyDeleteJust out of curiousity-do you post the email about FACDL for the toy drive-to make fun of them or because you actually want to promote the good cause. I got to give them some credit. I think they have been doing something for us lately. Can we just give them credit? (for actually giving their free time to some of us-lazy people, who only think of what we can be benefit.
I agree with CMPR. This is a broad who will never order an Appletini when you take her out. She'll have a few beers with you and then a few shots of Jack and if she doesn't like you she'll punch out your lights. But beneath that sneer and tough girl outfit I spy a rockin body and a little hottie just waiting for the right key to start her up.
ReplyDeleteApparently lack of sexual contact makes some people's imagination run absolutely wild.
ReplyDeleteWrestling in the back seat? That comment's author must have grown up in the 1950's.
What if your car phone rings while you are wrestling?
ReplyDeleteLet me be very clear about this- I think Toy Drives for underprivileged children is as worthy an endeavor as I could imagine at this time of year. Nothing about my post should have been construed as sarcasm about what the FCADL is doing. Everywhere you look this time of year great institutions are holding toy drives and I urge all of my readers to donate as much as possible and brighten up a child's holiday.
ReplyDeleteRumpole,
ReplyDeleteI love the encouragement of your readers to be charitable. But must you post the comments regarding the objectification of the female PD as well? I understand and believe in the 1st amendment, but these comments are in such poor taste. No one needs to read the leering internal monologue of a bunch of juveniles.
DS,
ReplyDeleteThis client may be mentally ill, but not in the way you think.
He's one of those radical anarchist types that believes that we are slaves to the government which is evidenced by the fact that as soon as we are born we are given a birth certificate that identifies us as a certain name.
People with similar types of thoughts are usually holed up somewhere plotting abouth how to overthrow the gov't.
@8:46- 1950's slang-
ReplyDeleteGee Wally, you wanna go to the malt shop with me and later we can wrestle in the back seat.
