REGIONAL RE-SET

(cue Dragnet theme)

The story you are about to read is true.
The names have not been changed, although the individuals are innocent.

On September 6, 2011 Attorneys Gene Zenobi, Kellie Peterson and Rene Palomino were dismissed from their jobs as assistant regional counsel attorneys for imbibing wine some 60 days previously.

Trial was held in the court of public opinion.
In a moment, the results of that trial ....

On October 4, 2011 the Governor of the State of Florida appointed Gene Zenobi as Regional Counsel, replacing the individual who fired him. Mr. Zenobi was exonerated.

Shortly thereafter (and we believe this is a scoop) Mr. Zenobi rehired and re-instated Kellie Peterson and Rene Palomino to their former positions at Regional Counsel. No confirmation on the rumor the parties toasted to their good fortune with a simple yet intriguing Cabernet.

Ms. Peterson and Mr. Palomino have been exonerated.

Dum da dum, dum da da da dum...

Judge Chin on sentencing: This is a great NY Times article on the education of SDNY Judge Denny Chin and his views on sentencing defendants.

  1. As an attorney who has appeared before Chin as counsel and as a potential juror....I give the guy a double thumbs up!!!!! Southern District wishes it had a judge like Chin.

  3. Teabag candidate for Regional CounselTuesday, October 11, 2011 12:30:00 AM

Hey, don't jump for joy over your boy Zenobi. I just checked your birth certificate on Judge Scott Silverman's ancestry.com personal website - and you sir were not born in the U.S. as per your birth certificate. Gotcha.

  4. There is a proverb attributed to the chinese which says when you come to a fork in the road take it. I wish Mr. Zenobi good fortune at the counsel's office and I hope is able to train the young attorneys who handle the bulk of the cases to balance providing competent counsel and moving the cases through the system like the assembly line we are all a part of. So I hope he does not come to regret what he wished for because as an outstanding trial lawyer and man he may care too much which is something most elected pd's and state attorney's do not do or it would kill them. Can KFR afford to worry about every sex battery or murder case and victim or Carlos Martinez worry about every bogus battery on a leo or hfo looking at 30 for pushing his girlfriend in their apt. after she threw a knife at him and told him to leave? good luck and don't let the job do to you what the sao pressure did to paul mendelson.

  5. Now that the RC stuff is behind us, maybe you could perform another service...

Could you post a list of the Dade Judgeships that are up for election, and the known candidates?

    Thanks in advance.

  6. Joe George for PresidentTuesday, October 11, 2011 7:35:00 PM

Please watch me tonight on the Republican debates.
My three part plan: 1) Inspire to admire 2) I am the only candidate with the experience as commander in chief of the office of Regional Counsel.

Until you assume the mantle of commander in chief you cannot imagine the awesome responsibility and pressure of being in charge. I mean head honcho. The ol' buck fifty stops near me type of being in charge. The "you're fired" type of being in charge. That's me. I have done that.

Joe P George for President- the reasonable alternative to John McCain.

  7. Can't you exercise your editorial perogatives by deleting adolescent horseshit like the 7:35 P.M. comments. I do not know George. Apparently he is no good, and he is gone. So, why not move on./ The football pool shit is more inetresting than the potty-humour level of this type of diatribe.

  8. I don't see it as "potty humor." I see it as farcical.
