Many long time denizen of the REGJB know that for decades South Florida was blessed to have the very best in talk radio- Neil Rodgers. Neil died recently, and for some reason we have been thinking about Neil and his protege-Bob Lassiter. As detailed here, Neil was instrumental in getting Lassiter started in talk radio. But once he started, Bob Lassiter went on to have a career that approached if not equaled the great Neil Rodgers.
Here is the aircheck of what many believe was Lassiter's greatest call: the famous Mr. Airstream. It's worth a listen. And then listen to the other airchecks on the blog- they are all great.
And in case you're missing Uncle Neil, here is a web site that has over 150 Neil Rodgers shows-commercials included.
If talk radio is not your thing, just skip today's post and tune in tomorrow for Football.
See You In Court.
Rumple you magnificent bastard. I read your book. I READ YOUR BOOK.
ReplyDeleteUmm chomp chomp that merits at least a continuance.
ReplyDeleteNeil loved a big cigar.
ReplyDeleteShumine sell cigars down by the sea shore. The cigars Shumie sells are sea cigars down by the sea shore.
ReplyDeleteI ate 3 raw almonds today and ran 15 miles! I am a lonely wretched wench.
ReplyDeleteIt's Shumie time for Shumie time.
ReplyDeletei know you are a criminal guy as all who read this but you ought to be writing about the shit going on with that lawsuit and Lewis and Tien. check out jay weavers article in the herald really really bad stuff against that firm
ReplyDeleteRUMP! I've wanted to get a good blog story going for a while now. Today seems like the day. I'll start. Readers join in. We can vote on the sections- choose one, and continue. I will start it is the next comment.
ReplyDeleteIt was one of those unusual Miami summer mornings. A bit cool before the sun came up. I was heading to the criminal courthouse in Miami for an 8am calendar call. That's what I do- I am a criminal defense attorney. I decided to head in early and grab a cuban coffee downstairs. Perhaps munch a pastillito and shoot the breeze with the early morning regulars. I pulled into the parking lot- had my choice of spaces at this time of the morning- and grabbed a small sweater as I got out of my Mercedes. As I said, it was unusually cool for a Miami summer morning. As I walked to the entrance at the front, an unusual scene was unfolding. There was Jay White, another defense attorney, holding a file close to his chest and muttering to himself. I could be wrong, but I thought I saw bloodstains on the file. Then, suddenly, Alex Michaels came darting over to me. He was excitedly chattering on a cell phone and gesticulating wildly. Alex shouted at me in Romanian- his natural language. He then shook his head and pointed behind himself and walked away, still shouting into his phone. I took a few tentative steps and saw a few other attorneys I knew. One was sitting on the ground hugging her legs to her chest and another one was just staring blankly as I asked her what happened. I kept walking and saw the source of the commotion. There was a body lying face down in the bushes. I could see the shoes. I noted the shoe soles had holes in them. The body was wearing a black robe. There was an umbrella from one of the local hot dog stands shoved rudely into the back of the body. In the distance I heard the wail of police sirens. I was right. It was an unusual Miami morning. Someone was standing over the body. They gently rolled the body over. I was shocked as I saw the face....
ReplyDeletethis post has really drawn out the nerds with their Shummie/Angry Gurl/fake Ted M nonsense.
ReplyDeleteIs this what nerds do in between circle sessions?
3:41 is correct. The Herald article points to some very serious stuff. These guys are in a lot of trouble and over something so stupid. Kudos to both Judge Dresnick and Genden for not giving them a pass becasue they are part of the ex US Attorney old boy network in this town whose motto seems to be that their shit does not stink and that their pedigree alone should guarantee success and respect. You will know they are going down the sinkhole when either Bob Martinez or Bob Josefsberg steps in to represent them.
ReplyDeletep-off 4:36. This is my blog as much as it is yours. I enjoy this stuff. I am eagerly awaiting Angry Gurl's weekend post and if shumie is having a halloween cigar party, I want to know the details.
ReplyDeleteI posted the stuff about Tein yesterday on this and the other very very relevant blog. I was called a loser on the other blog.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I am a loser, but I have news for you, if I pulled half of the crap that these attorney are pulling and lying about it, my ticket to practice would have been lifted along time ago.
I will ask the question I asked yesterday: did these attorneys hone their lying skills while they were US Attorneys, or is this a recent development?
Willa,
ReplyDeleteWhat in the world do you think you are doing?
3:52 pm. you sound like you practice more in Broward than in Dade. Broward has calendar calls, Dade has soundings plus Au Bon Pain does not sell pastelitos.
ReplyDeleteIt only takes a fair sense of perception to realize that all of these nonsense posts - the Shumie, fake whoever, Angry whoever posts -are all written by the same guy. They're all in the same voice, spelling, phrasing, just the subtle things.
ReplyDeleteTein and Lewis have been POS for a long time. They deserve to be investigated at least
ReplyDeletei wrote the comment at 6 13. I Googled results for this matter and read all of the Herald and Sun Sentinel articles. Don't know where they picked this habit up but the fact is that it happened. The $3,500.00 fine is nothing compared to what is coming down the pike. It appears that they made very emphatic representations to the court that they were not representing the tribe and that the fees were not paid by the tribe. The latter is not true and the former is probably 99% horseshit. Why they made these statements is the real question when the documents show just the opposite. Maybe they thought the Plaintiff's attorney was incompetent and nothing but a state court hack. After all, he was never an AUSA and doesn't attend all of the fancy bar functions where they all stand around slapping each other on the back basking in their own self importance.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting on the Lewis Tein matter.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/mh-miccosukee-car-fatal-judgment-20111027,0,1295884.story.
This is the same firm that represented Ken Jenne and billed BSO $600 an hour for their work. Outrageous.
ReplyDeleteI guess Lewis, Tein got sucked into that allure of the almighty dollar. It is amazing to hear some of their fee quotes from prospective clients who saw the light and realized they were full of shit. Charging Nevin Shapiro $25,000 a day for trial if he were to choose that option? You would have thought those two were good lawyers with prices like that, but quite the contrary. They suck! Hope they get fried with this newest revelation regarding the tribe paying their fees.
