MONDAY MORNING UPDATE: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton just gave a short speech/statement that was the best of her career. Very Churchillian. We have never been big fans of her, but she was superb this morning.
President Obama will address the nation tonight (Sunday night) at approximately 10:30 PM. For those of you still up, stand by for more details.
UPDATE: NBC REPORTS THAT THE PRESIDENT WILL BE SPEAKING ABOUT A "GRAVE AND SERIOUS CIA OPERATION" THAT TOOK PLACE OVERSEAS.
More as soon as we know it. There is something about this we really don't like. We are bracing ourselves for the worst? An attempted attack of some sort? We shall see.

Hillary Clinton is scheduled to address the press. Her office is reporting at 9;30 am that she will assure the nation that CINCO DE SHUMIE will not be canceled and Americans should fully participate in their local celebrations.

ReplyDelete9:44: Chef isn't an ahole, he is merely a liberal who thinks that bin Laden deserves "due process" and then life in prison. I am sure that his "rabbi", or whomever his spiritual advisor is, would be sorely disappointed in his analysis.
ReplyDeleteAsk KosherMeatball what the Torah says about taking another's life. I do believe that as long as bin Laden had the ability to plan and fund others' deaths, the Torah would call his killing permissible or excusable. If bin Laden was targeting Jews, his death would be mandatory according to the Torah.
It would be idyllic (albeit a bit boring) to live in a world in which everyone behaved themselves; there was no premarital sex; everyone would die of natural causes; and all religions were friendly with one another. But, since we don't, we have to make the best of the situation.
As for the claim of moral authority. moral authority is another utopian concept that went out the window with the content of the chamber pot. It doesn't exist, and it is doubtful that it ever existed. What one person deems immoral, another may deem moral. Against whose standards shall a claim of moral authority be judged?
I for one am sorry that a life had to be taken in this instance, but if ever there was a guy that deserved it........And I am happy he is gone.
