Chapter II:
The Pharaoh's heart was hardened but he was not unmoved. He pondered his situation as the lawyers complained.
Pharaoh Brown (PB): Hmm, the people are restless. The attorneys are angry. Something must be done. Get me Sam Slom.
Court Jester: GET THE PHARAOH SAM SLOM. So it is written, so let it be done!
Sam Slom: You called Pharaoh?
PB: Yes. Put down that enormous beverage cup you are always carrying and have a seat.
The lawyers are restless. This is not good.
SS: This is not good.
PB: I have an idea!
SS: You have an idea??!!
PB: We will let some of the lawyers park. Go now, move some of the legions to the other lot. Lets see hmm...
SS: I will move some of the legions to the other lot.
PB: Say 40 of the legion.
SS: 40 of the legion.
PB: I just said that.
SS: But you said for me to say it.
PB: Who do I look like? Bud Abbott? I am the Pharaoh Brown. Stick to the right century please.
SS: Sticking to the right century.
PB: Move 40 of the legion to the other lot. But tell them this- the production of bricks shall not fall one brick. They shall show up on time and they shall praise the Pharaoh.
Court Jester: The productions of bricks shall not fall one brick! The lawyers shall be on time. So it is written, so it shall be done!

Thank you for your recent e-mails on the parking situation in lot 26.
Yesterday, Judge Soto the AOC, Court liaison and I met with the City of Miami at which time a plan was put into place that would involve the movement of 40 law enforcement officers from lot 26 to lot 18.
It may take a short period of time to implement this transition but it is hoped that this will free up spots in lot 26 for the paying customers.
Thanks for your patience as the court is attempting to facilitate a resolution to the problem. The City of Miami is committed to solving this situation as well .
Sam Slom
Let me say that we should all appreciate Judges Slom and Soto for getting involved in something which by all rights they should say that it is not their problem.
ReplyDeleteI can't let that stand in the way of my creative juices, but still we should thank them when we see them.
Also those FACDL people, But if you approach them they will just ask for more dues, so tread warily.
Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteMister Rumpy, You are obviously a member of FACDL since you "leak" everything they say in their list serve, so, why so critical of them and their request for dues? I don't get it. They haven't asked for additional dues in years.
ReplyDeleteAbout parking, I too thank Bertie and Sam for helping out. We may not agree with everything they say or do but, they do work hard and mean well.
Thank you Bertie and Sam. We appreciate your help. Now, can we use your spots in the basement to park our Bentleys to avoid being arrested for simply being first to a new empty space in Lot 26?
I would not under any circumstances join any organization that would admit me.
ReplyDeleteUncle Vanya- please respond. D-landnsouth issues.
ReplyDeleteThen resign from FACDL and stop leaking their emails.
ReplyDeleteSeriously? You're charging people hundreds of dollars an hour and you're bitching about parking? Park where you can and go represent the people who are paying you! The cops shouldn't be parking there, but let's put things in perspective. Walk a little, it'll be good for you. As for judges getting involved in City of Miami issues? I hope The Herald doesn't hear of this. As if a JD precludes you from walking. Pampered babies!
ReplyDeleteAnd Rump, please stop quoting Groucho Marx! You're not worthy! lol
ReplyDeleteTHE PARKING "SOLUTION" IS NOT A SOLUTION. As one of the attorneys that was exiled to Lot 18, I can tell you that it is a comparable clusterfuck over there...and now they want to send cops over there to further fill the lot. Between the morons that don't prepay before heading to the exit and the geniuses that drive the wrong way in the lanes it's already fun times.
ReplyDeleteGreat fucking solution...glad you all went to law school.
New Problem??????
ReplyDeleteCity of Miami Police Vehicles spotted in the Kristi House Lot. Is his the relocation?

ReplyDeleteDUI - Blood Draw (no death or SBI) .....
An appeals court in Daytona Beach heard arguments Tuesday on whether law enforcement in Brevard and elsewhere in Central Florida can forcibly draw blood from certain DUI suspects.
The case on appeal involves Rockledge resident Gregory Geiss, who was stopped by Melbourne police in September 2009 after he failed to keep to a single lane while driving on U.S.1. He was subjected to a forced blood test after county judge David Silverman signed a search warrant.
Circuit Judge George Maxwell did not allow the blood evidence in court, which led to the appeal by the state

ReplyDeleteJuvenile Killers in Jail for Life Seek a Reprieve ....
More than a decade ago, a 14-year-old boy killed his stepbrother in a scuffle that escalated from goofing around with a blowgun to an angry threat with a bow and arrow to the fatal thrust of a hunting knife.
The boy, Quantel Lotts, had spent part of the morning playing with Pokémon cards. He was in seventh grade and not yet five feet tall.
Mr. Lotts is 25 now, and he is in the maximum-security prison here, serving a sentence of life without the possibility of parole for murder.
Almost a year ago, the Supreme Court ruled that sentencing juvenile offenders to life without the possibility of parole violated the Eighth Amendment’s ban on cruel and unusual punishment — but only for crimes that did not involve killings. The decision affected around 130 prisoners convicted of crimes like rape, armed robbery and kidnapping.
Now the inevitable follow-up cases have started to arrive at the Supreme Court. Last month, lawyers for two other prisoners who were 14when they were involved in murders filed the first petitions urging the justices to extend last’s year’s decision, Graham v. Florida, to all 13- and 14-year-old offenders.
