Your new REGJB County Court Judges are.......drum roll please......
DARRIN GAYLES FOR FLORA SEFF......AND
ANDY HAGUE FOR BETH BLOOM.
Which means if you now have a DUI, you don't have to go to the Netherlands to practice before The Hague.
First cool weekend of the fall. Enjoy. See You In Court.
Blog trivia- name cities that are properly referred to with "The"....The Hague...The Vatican....and The Bronx (which is technically a borough, but still it's kind of funny.)
"The" Ohio State University
ReplyDeleteStrange but THREE FORMER judges have applied for the spot on the 3rd DCA:
ReplyDeleteJeff Swartz- Long on name recognition;
Jon Colby- Long on political connections. Raised lots of "Crist Cash".
Roy Gelber- Long on experience. Single handedly reformed the court appointment system in south florida.
Each brings something to the table.
Shabbat Shalom y'all.
ReplyDeletenew rumor...... Miguel de la O ready to file for 2012???????????????
ReplyDeleteThe 'Hood. Not really a city. Perhaps a state of mind.
ReplyDeleteWake up people. Read Saturday's Herald articles about the legislature's "mandate" for a "turn right" and the impending efforts to "overhaul" Medicaid.
ReplyDeleteMike Haridopolus is a genius, I say. "One of the things we are openly looking at is means-testing prisoners." [I kid not] "If they qualify for Medicaid, let them in. If they are really wealthy, make them pay." [Still not kidding]
I can't wait: "Judge, you can't send my client to prison, he's part of that tiny sliver of the population that just slips in-between QUALIFYING FOR MEDICAID, AND BEING REALLY WEALTHY. Probation's real expensive too, so just adjudicate him and I'll see that he makes it home, with a 'go with God' from Mike Haridopolous. Thanks, your Honor!"
And Medicaid...the usual "gotta get rid of lawsuits." Lowering liability limits for doctors who treat Medicaid patients. So if you're poor, your arms, legs, fingers, toes, eyes, teeth...your #$#@ing life is worth less than if you aren't getting Medicaid benefits. May all these yahoos be victimized by underpaid, overworked, incompetent at times, malpractice-proof doctors! And by the way, this whole lawsuit thing is gonna get a lot better, as the US SCT is about to kill the class-action suit in America.
Forget how bad any reasonable person felt when Scott won the gubernatorial race. Ponder this: there is a veto-proof rethuglican majority in Tallahassee, a majority that makes Governor-Elect Scott look like Ted Kennedy.
Oh, and you rape victims, be sure to get the name of your attacker so you'll know what NOT to name the spawn of his seed that these "small government" folks will force you to give "life" to. Isn't God great! But that's a whole other discussion.
So get ready to ride the Tea Party train back to the mid- to late-19th century. It's gonna be a bumpy ride...to Corporatocracy Junction. I hear there's a great Welcome Center at the Chamber of Commerce. There's no staff present, just phones to the staff in India and China. Just speak very slowly. The satellite delay's a bitch!
11:36... I think thats "Da Hood".
ReplyDeleteHeard Rump's wife was selected to be on "The Real House Wives Of Hialeah." Should be a fun watch.
ReplyDeleteHow do you send a tip to you?
ReplyDelete3rd DCA Candidate Power Rankings: to be given at irregular intervals until a decision is made:
ReplyDelete1.00 Kevin Emas- it's no fun to be the favorite- you can only go down.
.996 Orlando Prescott- has it all, including the all powerful ran for election and successfully defended his appointed seat. Crist loves that.
.897 Norma Lindsey- see above (successfully defended seat Crist appointed her to) plus the necessary powerful political spouse.
,833 Jon Colby- fashionable pick, but what have you done for me lately besides raise boatloads of cash for Crist? See above.
.743 Jeff Swartz- Tea party brand of judicial philosophy appeals to northern legislators who have often loudly verbalized their desire to "straighten out them courts down in Miamah".
.600 and below---field- these candidates need to do something to brake above the .600 line.
Captain,
ReplyDeleteSomeone posted that you are Bob Levy. Now that I look back on it, I think they might be right. I haven't heard a denial. Not that Bob would know the truth if it stepped up and introduced itself.
Rumpole-- didja know one of "Our Favorite Blog" -- FACDL - MIAMI
ReplyDeleteno longer exists?
Hope this makes it to the football thread.
ReplyDeleteWell, a 5-1 last week was just what the doctor ordered. Gets us back in the black, back over 50% and Three Fingers Vinnie off our back. Congrats to Rump and the Suicide Pool winner.

ReplyDeleteHey JNC Joe,
ReplyDeleteWhat 3rd DCA seat are you talking about? The only vacancy we know about is the one that Kevin Emas, Ivan Fernandez and Ed Scales were nominated. They are being interviewed by the governor this week. What planet are you on??
Captain = Levy?
ReplyDeleteI could believe that. Look back on the posts. Cross reference to those judges and candidates on Team Levy.
Could be.
As I have said, I'm just glad Levy is in charge.
He had a big loss when Flinn went down in the District 8 commission race. But don't worry, he did VERY well on state races, so his power is intact.
That makes me feel better. Aren't you glad, too?
(Bob, feel free to have this post removed if you think that's best.)
