CATASTROPHIC EARTHQUAKE HITS HAITI

The quake, with a magnitude estimated at 7.0, caused the collapse of the National Palace, leveled countless shantytown dwellings and brought more suffering to a nation that was already the hemisphere’s poorest and most disaster-prone.

The earthquake was the worst in the region in more than 200 years and left the country in a shambles. As night fell in Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s densely populated capital, fires burned near the shoreline downtown, but otherwise the city fell into darkness.

  20. does shumie make any money off of shumie time?

    ReplyDelete
  21. No- the guy copy righted "shumie time" and then built a web site during the viral phenomena phase of shumie time and then sold it for a small fortune. When shumie complained he was told that while someone cannot copyright a common name, :"shumie time" was a slogan and shumie isn't even really shumie's name.

  25. THE CAPTAIN REPORTS:

    CIRCUIT COURT JUDGE FILES ...

Three days after my posting "Election Update 2010" (where I listed the four incumbents Circuit Court Judges that had yet to file), one of those Judges has filed.

    Group 12 – Bertila Soto

I do not claim to have anything to do with reminding Judge Soto to get that paperwork in to Tallahassee.

    Cap Out ....

  26. So many dead, so much destruction.

    Terrible politics, terrible corruption.

A truly sad fate for this little country.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Exactly what types of Shumies are there?

    ReplyDelete
  28. it doesn't take much to see that the problems of State court clowns don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Why? Why in the name of all that is good on this earth would you allow these jokes and numerous post on what is a tragedy!

I am just sick to read this trash. Take down the nonsense and leave this open for real comments on this tragedy.

Ps. The State Department has set up a text donation for Haiti.

    Text the word: HAITI

    To Number: 90999

This will charge a $10 donation to the victims of Haiti.

  30. There's your standard; there's your original; there's your common; and there's your late arriving, there's your early leaving, there's your in trial, and you settlement shumie, and then there's your reticulated.

Reticulated: a shumie of a subspecies (shumie camelopardalis exitus work reticulata) found in northeast Africa, South Miami, and sometimes in northern Hialeah that has an affinity for large cigars and drives cars characterized by a deep chestnut-colored coat divided by a network of fine white lines into large geometric patches and chews the cud mostly on the left side of the mouth.

Those are your commonly recognized shumies.

  31. I don't get it. A nation crumbles, and the voters (as few as there were) return a crooked commissioner to her seat on the city commission and all I see is stuff about that idiot Schuminer.

Oh well, Spence-Jones has to find the money to pay for her defense and what better way than to steal it from the citizens of Miami.

  32. What a bunch of morons who follow this blog. How could they write all this stupid, over-played shumie sh!t on a blog entry regarding the near-destruction of an already impoverished nation? Grow up little children and get a clue. There is a time and place for this juvenile crap (though I think there is NEVER a time and place for any of the Alex Michaels bullsheeet or Shumie entries b/c they are so lame)... but it certainly is not on a post about the tragedy which has befallen Haiti.

  33. 10:10..........it's easy to understand. The same jackasses that make court such a painful experience at times by their incompetence and pettiness think this nonsense is funny.

Just as they can't understand that the justice system deals with real people and that case decisions have real consequences, the suffering of people they don't know and the wasting of tax dollars don't even register on their radar.

Fortunately, it's probably only a couple of guys (if that many) chatting among and amusing themselves.

    BTDT
