ONLY IN BROWARD

Only in Broward does the SAO hire a former political commissioner as an ASA who turn out to have been an FBI informant! Bob Norman's all over the travails of Sheila Alu here.

The Broward Blog has a nice picture of SA Satz with his head in his hands and the caption "Of all the gin joints, in the all the world, she walks into mine." Very Rumpolian if we do say so ourself.

And don't forget that Alu was the law student watching in horror as Judge Gardiner canoodled with the ASA in a murder/death penalty case before Gardiner as they made fun the grisly pictures in the case. Alu later spilled the beans on that as well.

According to the Broward Blog, they now call Alu a "rat" in the hallowed halls of the Broward SAO, and how ironic is that?

It's the cold and flu season and the NY Times has borrowed a page from the Channel 7 hurricane play book here.

The Bills come to town Sunday and QB Chan Henne has his debut as a starting quarter back in the NFL. Good luck to us.

Have a great weekend. See you Sunday for more worthless football picks, and don't forget the suicide pool.

  1. I'm planning on beginning my annual winter retreat to my abode high in the Sierra Nevada Mountains earlier than usual. Perhaps the end of October through January 3, 2010. Business in the Ninth Circuit is one reason. Is there anyone who can report on the REGJB for me? Be the eyes and ears of the blog?

  4. Rumpole- that post at 10:30 am should be taken down. It's well known Boros and Soven hate each other. The comment is incendiary. If anything happens you are responsible.

  6. Three important questions:

    1. Why the hell is Staz still the State Attorney in Broward? We may gripe about Rundle & Co. here in Dade, but they are nothing compared with North of the Border.

    2. Has anyone filed a Bar Complaint against Satz? Do any Broward defense attorneys have the balls to do so?

    3. How many people will get nailed in the ongoing investigations in Broward? I have no information, "hard" or otherwise, so anything I say is pure conjecture, but the picture I get is that the recent arrests were just the tip of the iceberg.

  8. How does one "canoodle"? Do the clothes remain on? Does it involve then tongue? Is a breast exposed? Is the rump (pardon the pun) petted? I want in.

  9. I'd pay a few grand to canoodle with the really hot associate at a private suite at the dolphins game on Sunday- not to mean you can buy her, just to say what I would pay- and that's just for canoodling, nothing more.

  11. Silvia Perez has filed papers today to run against sitting judge Lisa Walsh in Group 31.

According to the Florida Bar website, Perez was admitted in 2001and currently practices family law for Legal Aid in Homestead.

  12. "THE LORD IS MY APPELLATE PANEL" The HBO docudrama of arguably the worst judge the United States- the story of Cheryl Aleman- is set for final casting with Meridith Baxter Birney as Aleman; Lou Diamond Phillips as Rob Malove; Danny Devito as Judge Dale Ross; Judd Hersch as Judge Vic Tobin and James Earl Jones in a cameo appearance as Broward State Attorney Mike Satz!!!!

  13. You forgot Patrick Michael Harris as Howard Finkelstein

  14. 8:21:00 PM, James Earl Jones would be better suited to play Chuck Morton. Kelsey Grammer could play Mike Satz.

  15. Sylvia Perez must be the woman seen having her picture taken yesterday on the steps of 73 W. Flagler St. holding law books and smiling for the cameras.

  16. That is a shame about JUDGE LISA WALSH! She should NOT have an opponent. Judge Walsh is one of the most intelligent and experienced judges that we have and her temperament is so excellent. She was selected by the JNC for county AND for circuit. The Herald and every union will endorse her - and she will blow this chick out of the water. What do you think Rumpole and Captain?

  17. When is the qualifying deadline to file to run for Governor of Florida?

I intend to start from the top and clean up the state!

    Vote 4 me.

  18. who actually likes alan soven? how was barry wax and nice decent ethical guy partners with him?

  19. Every sitting judge should have an opponent. Simply because someone was qualified to get a job doesn't necessarily mean they should retain that job indefinitely. If Walsh is as good as you say, sat 12:51, then you're right she will blow her opponent away.
