BARRY HALPERN HAS PASSED AWAY
Long time REGJB regular attorney Jack Blumenfeld was good enough to notify us that attorney Barry Halpern, who practiced criminal defense in the Justice Building for many decades, has passed away.
There is a service for Barry Halpern Friday at 12 noon at
Riverside Gordon at Aventura 20955 Biscayne Blvd. Aventura, FL 33180 305 935 3939
A road without obstacles is a road not worth taking.
other TEPS include, bob singer, ivan tobias, bob rosenblatt, jim stark, ct rpter Bruce horowitz, steve uhlfelder, dave kahn, larry berrin and others that dont come to mind right away. awesome frat, awesome guys, we will miss you Barry. rest in peace. TEPS are TOPS and so was Barry.
I will miss him. I not only tried cases with him in the REGJB, but he was my pledgemaster many lifetimes ago at the TEP house in Gainesville. He coined the identity I was forever known as in the annals of our frat, namely, "Roy the Goy". (Ask your Jewish friends). One of the really good guys. Condolences to his family and all who loved him. Roy Gonzalez
Very nice tributes for Barry on the blog;but why was the funeral absent R..E.G.regulars and others who were supposed friends.Yes,inhis honor there was an excellent turnout, but only one former prosecutor appeared and one judge from my observation. Was everyone out for a long lunch or playing golf at 12:00 on Friday?
Can you please post a photo of Mr. Halpern?
ReplyDeleteA fellow Gator and fellow TEP fraternity brother of mine, (and Stan Blake, Kevin Emas, and Joel Brown). He was an excellent attorney and a family man.
ReplyDeleteMy condolences to his family.
