Poor Fernandez? ahh my friend at 1:30pm take note that those of us who admire and respect him (and others like him) are considering on what should be done with those who claim to be friends but are not. Time will reveal the consequences

RUMP. THIS IS SERIOUS. IGNORE AT YOUR OWN RISK BUT PLEASE POST FOR YOUR READERS.
ReplyDeleteA very mean and bad band of disgruntled former employees of a law firm- IT guys and some associates, that were fired and then sued and lost a summary judgment, are in town. These guys feel beaten and abused by the legal system and they are striking back by very insidious use of email to infect the firms computer systems.
OK now the name. It sounds silly, but be warned: THE UNSCRUPULOUS POTATO HEADS.
HERE'S WHAT THEY DO:
They will gain access to your email system and corrupt known email addresses. Then they will send an email from someone you know with an attachment. When you open it it will seem empty. It will have a virus.
WHAT DOES THE VIRUS DO?
Not what you think. The virus primarily strikes word processing functions, because if you think about it, that's what lawyers do.
1) It will re-arrange the keyboard. When you hit one letter, say "e" a "z" will appear. BUT and this is significant- it will happen one or two times a document. Just enough to slow productivity.
2) It re-arranges pro-nouns. "He" becomes "she" and vice a versa. Your spell check doesn't pick it up, but your client will and will feel you are doing sloppy work.
3) It inserts subtle phrases, such as, in a letter, "this judge is a jerk", or in a pleading, "opposing counsel has large breasts."
Again, this will get past most spell checks, and will slow productivity to a crawl.
This is just a few of the many things this vicious group does. They followed a partner from California from the original firm that fired them, to her new firm in Chicago, and tormented the firm so viciously, that eventually the firm had to get new servers and scrap their entire system. The whole system was infected with viruses and back doors it could not be made secure, and they just had to start over. The partner was asked to leave.
Anyway, they are now in Miami, because I have a friend who works with them. Be careful. Be warned.
THE UNSCRUPULOUS POTATO HEADS CAN RUIN YOUR LIFE.
10:07 p.m., my concurrence, if I were up for election I'd be worried!
