REVEALED!!!

That Judge who was harassed by that "Gorilla Monsoon" looking gendarme was none other than retired Judge Rick Margolius, a/k/a Ric Zweig, as his website here explains everything.

Ric writes in the "royal we" on his site, as we do here, and that says something about class. In perusing his site we learned that he had a "much anticipated album" that was released in May, as well as news, blogs, and a must see photos section, which goes to prove that there is indeed life after the REGJB, and apparently a good one at that!

Ace PD David Sisselman was first with the guess and for that he wins lots of valuable prizes as well as public accolades.

COMINGS AND GOINGS:

The Colonel of County Court shot us a short email yesterday that Judge Jacqueline Schwartz has assumed responsibilities in courtroom 2-11, taking over for Judge Joe Fernandez, who has moved up to Circuit Court, taking over the calendar for Judge Bertie Soto, who is now chief honcho for criminal court.

Query: is this the first time that a one former spouse has taken over the calendar for the other? And isn't that just so 2010 ish?

HOLIDAY:
Our readers were quick to clear up the question we had the other day. The Courts are closed Monday July 5, 2010 for the 4th of July Holiday. That means we're outta here Thursday July 1, 2010, and off to the Vineyard for the long weekend. It's really the place to be for those long summer weekends. Look for us at the Black Dog Tavern or Sharky's Cantina for some cold margaritas and of course the Beach Plum for dinner, but make your reservations now, unless you know Jill at the door. She's very sweet to us.

See You In Court real soon.

  5. Rumpole - if you are as real a Vineyard dog as you claim to be, how come you haven't mentioned one of the best sunset locations in the country outside of Key West? This is a test Rumpole - I hope you can come correct with the
    right answer. Otherwise you'll be
    exposed for a fraud.

  6. Well I am not a regular at MV. I have a client who has had me out there several times recently, but I'll take a stab at it with a place I like to go: Gay head beach? Which is now actually Aquinnah beach. With the lighthouse and the cliffs, It's my favourite spot in the evening. There;s also the Inkwell and ....hmm...Memneesha or something like that. But I have watched the sunset at gay head and (please hold the jokes) it was very beautiful.

  7. Menemsha!!! Bingo. So....The Bite or Larsen's Fish Market, or....?

  8. Check out Jimmy Seas in Oak Bluffs. Best food on the island.

Also on your way up to Acquinnah take a right for Menemsha and try The Bite.

  9. Please take a look at Arnie Trevilla's page: http://miamicriminallawattorney.com/wordpress/
Scroll down if you would to the post entitled "Case Nolle Prossed Cause No Marijuana in Trespass Case."
Please tell me how this guy thinks it is a good idea to (a)brag about this unethical behavior and (b)mock a young state attorney? Does anyone agree with me that what Trevilla did is unethical? I wouldn't trust that guy one bit if I were a prosecutor.

  10. The Captain Reports:

Why I will never be a civil lawyer .....

A public health group in California has sent a notice to McDonald's of their intent to file a lawsuit against the fast food giant if the chain does not remove toys from their Happy Meals. The group, the Center for Science in the Public Interest, claims that the toys lure children into eating the food that is "too high in calories, fat and salt." Santa Clara County, in Northern California, voted to ban toy promotions from fast food meals in the county in April. Sharon Bernstein, LA Times 06/23/2010

So, let me get this right, it's my four year old daughter that has been driving me to Mickie D's and ordering me to buy her that Happy Meal so she could add yet another toy to her collection!

It's a relief to know that it's the children and not me that has been lured into the "golden arches" for all these years.

    Cap Out .....

  14. civil lawyers are scum....full stop...a civil lawyer told me today that she planned on filing a bodily injury case until she found out that there was no insurance to claim and therefore would not be filing suit...what happened to the bodily injury...is it contingent on there being insurance to be really hurt...such bs

    ReplyDelete
  15. 5:45:00 pm, don't forget that that civil lawyer works on contingency and that she will have to advance the costs of the action plus her own time and labor. If there is no insurance, she'd be working for naught to obtain a judgment which, to use Judge Loree Feiler's words, "can only be used to hang in your bathroom".

  16. Does this guy Arnie Trevilla have any clue at all?

First, the D-bag blasts a rookie ASA in County Court for making a rookie mistake.(You know what a bulls-eye looks like, Arnie? There's one on your back now) Big help for all your future clients.

Second, and I'm not making this up, is an excerpt from his "blog", date Monday, April 26,2010:

"""Some of the better Judges in the 11th circuit criminal court in Miami Dade with no fear are: Judge JOSE PINERO, NUSHIN SAFIE, IVAN FERNANDEZ, REEMBERTO DIAZ, DIANE WARD, SCOTT SILVERMAN, DARYL TRAWICK, ELLEN SUE VENZER, LUISE KRIEGER MARTIN, KAREN MILLS FRANCIS, FRED SERAPHIN, DAVID YOUNG, SAM SLOAM and JORGE CUETO to name a few."""

Only problem is that Judge "Jose" Pineiro is actually Rob Pineiro, Judge Slom isn't Judge "Sloam", Karen Mills-Francis and David Young have been out of the building for years.

He may take it down, but this will memorialize it for generations to come.

    Dude, whoever hires you should
save their money and hire Elortegui.

  17. i really like when trevilla writes "plays loose and fast" in stead of fast and loose in the blog posting above the marijuana story . English as a second language will always be his downfall! Buena suerte

    ReplyDelete
  18. Dear 3:07,

This is not Arnie Trevilla responding, as I will admit that his blog post is a dumb move professionally and is an admission that he is just another "Geez I hope the cops don't show up" attorney. Let's see him get another reasonable plea offer.

That being said, he did absolutely NOTHING unethical. It isn't his job to do your job (we all know that you are an ASAin county). He has a duty to his client. What was he supposed to do...point out to everyone that the existence of weed is irrelevant and that they are ready. He could get sued for doing that, plus a bar complaint.

    ReplyDelete
  19. That's just wrong, ripping on Arnie not too nice. But typical, everytime Rumpole does a typo, you guys always rip him a new one too.

Some people need to lighten up.

Taking cheap shots at someone's ethnicity and language is fairly discriminatory.

    Geezus!

  20. About Trevilla:

    1. His writing sucks ass, almost as good as Camacho's judicial skills.

    2. He did nothing wrong by getting a nolle pros on that case. County Court ASAs are very inexperienced and overworked, and every defense attorney there has benefitted from this.

    3. Trevilla is a jackass for posting what he did on his blog. He will reap what he sows.

  21. This list is an absolute joke. Stephen Mechanic is, in my opinion, one of the most unstable individuals in town. Jeff Cynamon is one of the worst lawyers and the weirdest person I have ever met, of course just my opinion. Touissant.......come on is this where we have ended up?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I agree, no Jeff Cynamon. I do not know many of the others, but Jeff is a joke.

I strongly urge each of you to copy this email list and voice your opposition to Jeff Cynamon for the bench:
