ZOOMING IN MIAMI

This is an only in Miami story.

Miami Courts had zoom.

Then we did not.

Now we do, but......

In the infinite wisdom of the leaders of our court system, we have zoom only as long as the Court does not tell anyone the zoom addresses of any judge.

Yes, you read that right. They REMOVED the Zoom information/ directory from the Miami-Dade Court website.

So you can in theory Zoom. But the Court system will not tell you the Zoom address you need.

So then we thought we'd just post the directory here. But then we thought far be it from us to be a thorn in the side of the Court administration. You know us: "Go along and get along" That's our motto. No muckrakers we.

So should we post the stupid directory or not?

Meanwhile there is a race to greet and welcome visitors at the REGJB.

The Clerk says Hello:

Not to be outdone, our chief judge (and anti-zoom zealot? We mean, do they remove the zoom directory from the website without her okey dokey? Just wonderin...) wants to welcome the rogues gallery of REGJB visitors as well:

So come visit the lobby of the REGJB! There is so much to do. Pose for selfies besides the bust of Richard Gerstein, look at the CJ poster, and then the Clerk's poster- with that finger pointing! That was made for a social media selfie if we ever saw one. And then stroll down the hall, past the elevators and pop into El Chapo cafe for a colada. Oh wait, never mind. It's cerrado.

Fun fact: When we took the first pic of the CJ poster, we noticed a distinctively Rumpolian silhouette in the reflection. We have come so far in protecting our identity and were almost undone by a mocking post of the court administration, which if you think about it would have been poetic justice. But alas, to the chagrin of the powers that be, we live to Blog another day.

GO USA SOCCER! We got a healthy ESP/USA parlay working as we write this.  And congrats to our lads who won on the Mexican pitch. Can a Rumpole seat at the Norway/England match this weekend in Miami be in the works? Well, first we need to win our parlay to afford the price of the ducats. And then we need to locate a prime pair. Email us if you have some you want to sell at a decent price.

  1. Great post! Id like to give you tickets as a thank you for keeping this blog going so long and so well. But I won’t, because this is the business we chose and the clients that would pay for that aren’t in our building, we deal with the great huddled masses.

  2. “Winning at all cost” is legal. In Pinder v. Et al. Movants assert absolute prosecutorial immunity, absolute immunity, qualified immunity, and sovereign immunity as defenses. VonZampft and Mitchell although accused of unethical behavior the law bears them the power and protection.

    1. Can you believe the state attorneys office is paying for Von Zamft's legal counsel? After they allegedly "accepted his resignation" for his misconduct. We all knew that was a farce. Now the taxpayers are paying for his misconduct. INSANITY.

  4. Hey, look at the judge board on the first floor. It's fine but, 5 judges are missing. When will they update the board so, I can find out where the judge is hiding?

  5. When enough people telephone asking the Clerk for specific Judge zoom credentials, the Clerk will reconsider and repost zoom information on their site.

  6. It is funny how you see those banners (I mean, vanity projects) EVERYWHERE across the courts and clerk's offices, yet the Eleventh Circuit’s website has been down since June 26—the longest ‘site maintenance’ in the history of humanity.

Meanwhile, the leadership is more concerned with throwing parties, posting on social media, grabbing awards, and failing to stand up for judges when they are threatened with impeachment for following the law. Make it make sense. Miami is the land of the absurd.

  7. The new Chief Judge is a fool for posting that pic of her. We need the Great Ed Cowart back.

  8. If they want us to go in person maybe they can build a courthouse that is not disgusting, smelly, moldy, and constantly breaking. Worst courthouse in the state and we have the largest criminal circuit. absolutely pathetic. where is all he money going?????

  9. Open courts, anyone? Why are the Zoom addresses blocked? The easy solution is that people are automatically muted when they enter, required to enter their name on the video, and to identify what they are there for in the chat. People can't talk or cause a commotion unless they are unmuted. And if anyone causes trouble, they are kicked off Zoom. What am I missing here, besides judges demanding people to be present because they want to feel the power of being seated higher up and away from everyone?

  11. Oh please. The girl gang of fajardo, cuesta and beovides are living the MAGA life. Collecting the judge salary and doing nothing but showing up to social events so they can post it on social media. That's straight out of the MAGA playbook. Get your name and picture up in as many places as possible.
