You Shall Not Be Judged By The Color of Your Skin But By The Content of Your Character. So far so good. I only wish our society lived up to the ideal. Our political elites have undertaken a forty year campaign to undermine the notion of a color blind society and replace MLK's words with this pithy declaration: You will be judged by the content of your character but only after we have taken into consideration your skin color, religion, sexual orientation, sex, and ethnicity to make sure that there is a fair balance and representation of characteristics over which you have no control and which satisfy our sense of fairness and diversity.

This should not be a Natinal Holliday! And no memorial in DC!
But it is a national holiday and there is a memorial and there's nothing you can do about it except exercise your right to free speech.

Marcia B. Caballero has been officially sworn in as a Miami-Dade Circuit Court judge. She will join the Juvenile Delinquency Division at the Juvenile Justice Center.
ReplyDeletePrior to being elected, Caballero served for 20 years as an attorney in private practice.
Her investiture ceremony was held at the Dade County Courthouse on Friday.
Caballero holds a bachelor's degree from Florida International University and a law degree from Texas Southern University.
Mardi Anne Levey Cohen will run for a Broward judgeship again in 2010 -- and this time she'll do so under her married name.
ReplyDeleteThe lawyer who has twice lost judicial races filed paperwork Jan. 5 to open a campaign account for a county court judge race.
Running under her maiden name of Levey last year, she was among the winners in the primary. But a judge kicked her off the ballot because she didn't use her married name, which she used in her legal practice.
The court of appeals later reversed that ruling after Broward had already printed thousands of ballots -- without her name on them -- for November.
Levey, married to Judge Dale Cohen, said she hadn't wanted to benefit from her husband's name.
She lost the election and has since sued Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes.

ReplyDeleteI like Reyes alot, so having him on my civil case is a good thing. I'm sure those that practice primarily at the REG Bldg will miss him.
