ADVICE

"Never talk when you can nod,

and never nod when you can wink,

and never write an e-mail because it's death.

You're giving prosecutors all the evidence we need."
Elliott Spitzer, interview with ABC news, circa 2006 as Attorney General of New York.

  4. Hey, Miami Herald, you're way behind me!

Six days ago, I posted an article about several new bills including the ones about Salvia divinorum - the "drug" being sold at head shops that the legislature wants to ban.

  5. The Big O' used to be on every list for Judge. Now McWhorther is on every list.

Question: If you have to run to retain the seat in the next election why not just file and run against a Judge this fall? Can you do both?

  10. I did not post a comment in which an individual listed the personal sexual activities they would want to engage in with a prostitute who charged $4,300.00

    Basically, who cares?

  11. You mean to tell me Elliot Spitzer was a closet Republican!

  17. what the hell is wrong with female lawyers? don't they have any self-respect? Ms. Spitzer is encouraging her husband not to give up his office. just because she doesn't demand respect and loyalty from her husband, or even that he use a Torjan with an expensive "date," the rest of the State of New York demands respect. Famale lawyers need to see what an ass Ms. Spitzer is making of herself and they should never, never put their professional lives before their family lives. what is wrong with her?

  22. I read in the NYT that Spitzer tipped his escort $300 on a $4000 date. Is tipping customary in such a situation? If so, is $300 too little a tip?

  23. Relax folks. These names are just the applicants. Not all will get interviews, and only 6 will be sent to the Governor.

  24. Perhaps some of our blog experts could weigh in on the issue of tipping transient girlfriends, or boyfriends for that matter.

  25. 20% on $4,000.00 is $800.00. That cheap, government lawyer bastard.

  26. Spitzer's wife billed 3300 hours one year at Skadden Arps. Lets look at the ethics of this: taking away the legal holidays where noone is supposed to work: New Years day, Christmas day, Thanksgiving day, Labor day Memorial day and July 4, thats 6. New years eve and xmas eve you should work at most 8 hours. assuming this woman was never sick and worked ever other day of the year that averages to almost 10 billed hours a day for a year. if she worked 330 out of 365, taking the aforementioned 6 days off, bill 8 hours on the other 2, then she worked 27 of 52 sundays and billed 12 hours on 2 of them to compensate for 8 hours on the "eve" days. This is physically impossible and I hope she gets the same treatment or worse as her husband. billing fraud, corporate theft is a lot worse than cheating on a workaholic who is probably withholdins sex. even if spitzer has no excuse the sad part is that the amount of energy which surfaces to attack and build a case against a man and his sex life when last week 3 separate college campuses had students murdered and an LA star athlete and no one has any outrage and call for action is WHAT IS REALLY SAD ABOUT THIS COUNTRY. All of the news station were all over the spitzer story like it was a nuclear attack but 11000 handgun murders a year and no outrage. a 22 month old kid shot himself to death with his father's gun this week. when will the gun buyback programs begin?

  27. Herb Andrews is one of Miami's classiest acts. I hope Herb gets a seat on the bench. Oh no, he is not Cuban, Fidel is going to block him. Or some chick who has five years of experience breast feeding will stand in his way after she changes her name to Castro so her friends know who she is. Those friends being the Cubanos of the county.

  28. joe davis is the best choice for the open seat. Go joe. we need another gator judge to join sam, kevin and stan!!!

  29. Why does McWhorter put her name in when the same committe did not even submit it last time?

I thought we finally got rid of her. She got a real cush job at the school board.

Go away. You were a rotten judge.

  30. The problem with most Miami attorneys is you do not know how to really work. NY attorneys work on average 12 hours a day. Some work 8am to 8pm, most work 9:30am to 9:30pm on average. It is called real work, not sun bathing!

  31. and another thing Miami, in ny we know how to eat, shit, fuck , travel, dress, pick up laundry, pay bills, bathe and socialize and find some corporate sucker to bill for it. get with the program.you bleeding heart do gooders are poor and jealous of those of us who know that whoever looks out for number 1 and dies with the most toys won!
