SIGN ON THE DOTTED LINE

D..i...a..z..d...e...l...a..p..o..r..t..i...hey, there's not enough room!

Why is this man signing the front/back of a folder/binder/menu?

Why is putting this picture on your election website seen as helpful to wooing voters?

Shouldn't a successful lawyer be reading a case, or signing an important and complex document instead of scribbling on the back of some brown something-or-other?

Also, he's either not wearing a tie (which is fine by us) or has a napkin tucked in over his tie (which is kinda-dorky).  It's hard to tell. There's also two white lines running parallel though his hair.

Update: an alert reader, possibly with the NSA satellite recon unit, noticed the wallet and cell phone on the windowsill. Could be signs of a poorly tailored suit. Mens Warehouse anyone? Also, close inspection yields that there are buttons visible on the shirt. No napkin.

All in all, not the best political photo we've ever seen.
This one is much better:

President Ronald Wilson Reagan, July 3, 1986
Why is this man running for judge? ( The guy signing the menu, not President Reagan.)  We ask the hard questions other members in the media won't.

Maybe it doesn't matter if your name is Renier Diaz De La Portilla ala-vote-for-me-because-of -my-name-por-favor.

DUI CHECKPOINT ALERT:
Constitutionally, the police are required to publicize a DUI checkpoint. We pass on the information as part of our spirit of public service.

The Broward Sheriff's Office will be running a DUI checkpoint today from 7:30 am to 11:00 am at the entrance to the Judicial parking lot at the Main Courthouse in Fort Lauderdale today.

Kindly act accordingly.

Drive safe and sober* and see you in court.

* unless you wear robe and work north of the border.

Rumpole, you could not be more on point. Special interests, party politics, I owe so and so a favor, I refuse the First Lady or anyone from the Democratic Party. Politicians, or even wanna be politicians like Renier, who was kicked out of the School Board and recently lost a State House election to an unknown, don't belong on the bench. He's just looking for a job and his brother Miguel is trading favors for endorsements and campaign contributions. Renier will make Broward judges seem sober and fair.

I love his wallet and cell phone on the window ledge. Sort of indicates he sat down, stared at the back of his binder in preparation of signing the leather, took the photo and walked away.

Brain dead politician who wants to rule of felony cases. Awesome.

Rumpole- this is a staged photograph with an android as a double for the candidate. The two lines visible on the hair are a dead give away. They are lines for an access door to the CPU for the unit.

Rumpole- the dots in the pillow behind Rdlp spell out a message in code. Very interesting.

Florida GOP blocks Renier Diaz de la Portilla from party post - Miami Herald, October 26, 2012

"Talk about adding insult to injury.

Renier Diaz de la Portilla lost the Aug. 14 Republican primary for Florida House District 103 to Manny Diaz Jr. But at least Diaz de la Portilla bested Diaz in the race for Republican state committeeman.

Except it appears Diaz de la Portilla won't be allowed to assume the party post.

The Republican Party of Florida sent him and Diaz a letter two weeks ago informing them that Diaz de la Portilla had not filled out a party loyalty oath required to qualify for the committeeman race. The oath was due by noon on June 8. As a result, he will be disqualified -- and Diaz will assume the position instead.

"[A]n exception cannot be made to set aside the impact of your failure to file a loyalty oath with RPOF," the party's general counsel, Emmett "Bucky" Mitchell IV wrote in the letter to Diaz de la Portilla. "As such, I regret to inform you will not be seated as State Committeeman on December 1, 2012."

Diaz de la Portilla said in a series of text messages that it is "not true" that he did not file the loyalty oath."

Even a Republican hack can't win in his own party.

I would never vote for someone being promoted by Pando. She was a terrible judge, I still remember waiting hours for her to show to court our money and resources down the drain. Pando walking that girl around REG campaigning in the building is a no, no.

Who is Pando campaigning for at the REGB?

Pando was a good judge, with good bench demeanor, who had a bit of tardiness problem. Many judges are guilty of that. But frankly had she not been so plaintiff friendly the PIP defense bar, Raul Martinez haters and United Auto would have never given $200k to Diana Gonzalez's PAC in order to take Pando down.
Pando is a nice lady. Leave her alone.

Ok Annie, sounds just like what you use to say to us about being a "little"
We know it's you only your delusional asa would say being 3-4 hours late, taking money from litigants confront of you, failing to disclose loans made to you by your own baliff your countless foreclosures, lawsuits by jewellers who you didn't pay, drinking lunches with lawyers make you a great finh judge. Remember some of us actually know the truth of what you've done. Maybe one day someone will write a book.

It's come to this. You no longer need experience, qualifications, courtroom experience or judicial temperament. Lawyers will still line up to support you. How pathetic.

Alex Diaz De La Portilla is the man.

Reinier is getting elected.

Viva la DLP!

Pando is promoting Veronica Diaz, her puppet in this race. Seems like they need another PIP crony on the bench. Renier is lining up endorsements left and right. VIVA DLP!
